This may be a useless question, but do people hold more respect for any of the four title organizations then the others. Is one better then a other? What about the different names in different weight classes? Is it to confuse people? I find it difficult to tell my friends that don't follow boxing that a cruiserweight is the same as a Junior Heavyweight. It is just plain stupid. All the different organizations just doesn't help the sport. Neither do the GD 17 weight classes. 99.99% of people just don't get why boxing needs 4 weight classes from 112 to 122 pounds. What do you all think??
No I don't really have any more respect for any one sanctioning body than the rest I just go by the fighter thast holds the belt. That said the WBA are a bit of a joke just now but they all have their moments of madness. I'm with the 99.99% of people who think there are too many weight classes at the lower weights, I don't see the point of having two or four pounds between the weights, other than it's more sanctioning fees for the governing bodies.
Is that like the bling bling WWF belt they made Maybe they should do a diamond encrusted spinning world championship belt for boxing
This content is protected Makes you want to cry doesn't it? Heres a bit of news: The WBC Board of Governors has approved by a unanimous vote that the November 14 welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto (contract weight 145lbs) will be the first ever for the WBC Diamond Belt. The Diamond Belt has received a tremendous positive response from promoters and media around the world, and we at the WBC are very excited and proud that this important and historic fight will be the first for the Diamond Belt, said WBC President Jose Sulaiman. The WBC will not charge a sanction fee on this extraordinary occasion. :barf
