I should have prefaced it all by saying that I like Taylor. I always have. I want the guy to do good because I know he's got the talent. The thing is that I realized a long time ago that his lack of other important aspects can end up neutralizing the talent. Even in fights where he should, for all intents and purposes, win rather easily. I picked him to beat Froch but wasn't surprised with the result. A good pro will find a way to get you and that's what happened. It's all good man. Let's see what Taylor can do from here on out. The tournament is his big chance and what better opportunity could a guy ask for? Fighting the best to be the best. That's how its done.

 

Another thing about Dirrell is that he better not even think about coming out all guns blazing against Froch like he did against Oganov. I know that the two scenarios are completely different as he knows that he can get away with that against Oganov but still. Dirrellis gonna have to find a way to not only be effective but to do so over a grueling 12 rounds cuz Froch isn't going away.

 

Now you see what I've been trying to say...I think were basically saying the exact samething.

Let me rephrase it for you...Taylor once had that drive to do things close to perfection...Since accomplishing his life long dream...He's slipping and letting his talent waste with his work ethic....He should have learned that he needs to give it a 100% which he fails to do when comes to fight as of lately...you've brushed up on some good points when you made the statement that he needs to be more professional...I totally agree with you 100000% lol...that why I brought up the fact that he started slacking when he got those titles from Hopkins...Taylor may not have fought anybody before Hopkins but Taylor always give it 110 % while training...Great Training makes for Great performance in the ring come fight night...As of lately..Taylor has pissed me off because I know he's better than what he's displaying.

If Taylor can somehow transform himself to his old self by giving it 110% in his training and better his cardio...then maybe he can stop his critic...Trust me man, I understand how you feel about Taylor because I have the same thoughts but I think he's not living up to his potential..not at all with the crap he's done lately.

This Tourney should bring back Taylor to his old form or it will break Taylor...Thats the key question and we will get our answers soon.

Dirrells bike is his worst nightmare. Getting popped in the face with a strong jab by a fighter who doesnt just stand infront of you and trade like Taylor and Pascal. Froch better be ready to go on the chase.

 

Even a hater can't question Froch's mental and physical toughness. I simply do not believe Dirrell is ready for a fighter who will test an opponent the way Froch will.

 

I agree completely Boo,now all you have to do is convince the numerous forum members who believe Froch is going to lose to Dirrell cos he's nothing more than than an overrated,lucky SOB.:good

 

If Dirrell ends up doing well in the tourney, he would certainly not be the first prospect who surprised me. However, his best win to date was Victor Oganov. Zuniga beat 7 shades of **** out of Oganov and took his zero long before Direll got to him.

Froch is a proven commodity. You can beat him up round after round after round, and he will keep coming, and he will keep trying to win. And he stays dangerous. I do not think Dirrell has the experience to deal with that.

 

Hanshaw took Roy Jones to a tough unanimous decision loss. Dirrell destroyed him in 5.

 

Froch has never been a pressure fighter. He isnt the type that closes distance quickly. He likes to be a counter puncher. He didnt pressure Taylor or Pascal until he thought he had them hurt.

Dirrell has extensive amatuer experience all over the world. While not like pros surely he has experience in hostile territory.

 

I've been rewatching Dirrell fights all evening,and believe me this guy isn't what he or his fans think he is.In all of the fights i've watched,he gets nailed almost from the first bell,he is easy to hit,throws his punches from his hips (begging to be countered) and his stamina ain't all its cracked up to be,cos he seems to reverse into the ropes doing a cheap impersonation of the GOAT everytime he throws more than a couple of punches and in the Oganov fight he starts blowing after 2 minutes !!
Against Hanshaw he was dropped by glancing blows !!
This guy is all flash and no substance and Froch may be administering the "coup de grace" sooner than i predicted.

 

Now go over to You Tube and watch Zuniga/Oganov. I keep referring to that fight because, although Zuniga is under rated on ESB, he is a known quantity, and that fight tells us a lot about Dirrell's best win.

 

I was rather surprised to see Dirrell sell out so early in the Oganov fight like that as well but let's not forget the gulf in class between the two fighters. He probably figured that he could just pick up where Zuniga left off. One would have to assume that he'd be a little more economical in his approach against Froch. I think Dirrell has a chance but I wouldn't count on him winning. Froch is a rough customer and I think he's gonna make things uncomfortable for Dirrell in there and stop him.

A lot of people think that the Taylor KO taught us the most about Froch but I gotta say that I was more impressed with the middle rounds of the Pascal fight. In the middle of an all-out slugfest, Froch was able to switch gears and firmly establish control of the fight with his jab. Now you can say that both fighters needed the rest after the frantic early pace and you may not be wrong. However, I happen to think that Froch is just one of those guys who has a knack for knowing what aproach to take at different times throughout the course of a fight. I don't claim to be an expert but I've watched enough boxing throughout my lifetime to be able to spot a guy who knows exactly what he's doing in the ring.
