There are a number of schools of intimidation.

    The Sonny Liston school.

    The Muhamad Ali school.

    The Joe Louis school.

    The Jack Johnson school.

Look at the differences between those guys and you will understand the different threads of intimidation.

I dont agree that Ali was intimidating. I think he knew how to psyche guys out but I dont think he was using their fear against them per se. I also think Foreman is overrated in the intimidation department. He was surly but he wasnt scaring the living **** out of his opponents like Tyson and Liston were.

I think this is a question only boxers can answer.
Larry Gains said for him it was George Godfrey.
Ali admitted to being scared of Liston.

Larry Gains was a sparring partner for Jack ,he said the relief on a boxers face when he was informed he would not be needed that day was something to see.

Foreman admitted to being scared of Frazier. Sure I read somewhere that he was staring at Joe before the fight and hoping Joe didn't look down and see his legs shaking.

I've heard Foreman saying he was scared of Frazier's left hook and wabted to keep smashing him so he could get him out of there due to his 'fear'. And i heard him say he was scared of Norton a bit because he was such a 'physical specimen' (a biy like me, haha).

But really, personally i always got the impression Foreman was just saying that **** to be nice to the guys he'd just brutalised, or for some kind of effect for the camera.

Come on, we've all seen his performances against Norton and Frazier, he didn't look scared to me!
