    I tend to agree with this.

    If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Foreman the reason their proposed bout in 1999 never happened?

    I think it was something to do with disagreements about the percentage that each one would get paid.

    They each got payed to sign, then, if I'm correct, the promoter realized there wasn't enough money for both of their full pay checks, and he told them that he would only be able to give them a certain percentage of what their original purses were going to be, and Holmes said yes, but Foreman said no.

    Holmes did not try to fight Foreman until they were pushing 50, Holmes was struggling with guys like Maurice Harris while Foreman was fighting guys like Shultz, Savarase and Briggs. No version of Holmes would ever beat any version of Foreman.

    Holmes, every day and all day.

    Frankly, I don't get how every other Heavyweight duck job seems to get that much more attention on these boards than Foreman avoiding Holmes for his entire career.

    Because the primary difference, is that Holmes never challenged Foreman when George was holding a title or a position that was noteworthy of losing. Calling out someone when you're both in your 40's and on the ass end of your careers, doesn't qualify much as a duck job if you ask me.

    They were both in a great position to fight in 1992, both were top 10 contenders, both had just recently lost to the heavyweight champ. It's not like they weren't active in their fighting, and Larry had wanted to fight Foreman since around 1977.

    Simply WANTING to fight another man who never signs the paper doesn't warrant making an accusation of DUCKING..

    In 1977 Foreman had just lost to Jimmy Young while Holmes was a relatively unknown quantity. No real duck job there. In 1992, both men were in a position where they COULD HAVE faced each other, but Foreman was by no means in a position where he HAD TO face Holmes. In 1999, both men signed to fight each other, but because someone came back and cut the deal in half, George decided " **** it ".. Again, this is not ducking.

    Foreman wanted to fight Holmes around 1977 before he retired and Holmes claimed the reason he didnt fight Foreman was because he had a broken hand but the reality is Holmes people said they werent going to let their fighter Holmes fight that animal Foreman.

    Holmes is jealous of Foreman's popularity and thinks if he claims Foreman avoided him or brings up how Foreman lost to this fighter and that fighter that the public will respect him more than Foreman

    "Foreman-Holmes" was to have taken place in Jan. of '99 on a lower-budget PPV coming from Houston, Texas........... But the jackass backers' who were to put-up the cash got cold feet when ticket sales were not selling like pizza slices at a bar..... Early on, Foreman was to earn 10 million bucks to Holmes' 4 million dollar check.......... However, as fate would have it, the money really wasn't there, and Foreman refused to battle Holmes for anything under 10 million bucks....... Thus, no fight at all.........
    :twisted::shock:

    BUT! Aside from all the bull**** involved in that muddled promotion, I think Larry Holmes could still keep his distance and jab Foreman to death from long range and land enough slowed rights to Foreman's face to win a 10 round decision....... HOWEVER! Had the fight actually occured in Texas, Holmes probably would've gotten dicked by the judges doing the scoring.....
