I'm sure Pater said he was due to be fighting Forrest before he died. Not sure if he has anything else lined up currently though.
yeh i was told my craig himself he had signed to fight forrest ill send him an email tonight to ask what hes doing
he's a good prospects, its good he went to america early to work with roach, i've seen him a few times and he looks to be a much smarter fighter then andy lee so i don't think he's gonna stumble against the vera's of this world. with more improvement he definitely has the potential to pick up a strap
Nobody lined up yet. Craig took a minor gash to the eye in his last bout with Darnell Boone and the Cal BoC suspended him for 6 weeks(sparring and fighting) so he came straight home and has been training at Clovenstone. He went back on Thursday so they will be trying to set him up with something, probably in early October. He was quite badly affected by Vernon Forrest`s death as they had sparred together at the Wildcard and got on well.He hates the whole gun culture thing over there.
Gpater - Do you think he could come back to Britain for a fight with Macklin, Barker, Lee, Duddy etc or does he see himself slightly above that now?
I honestly dont know. I think hes in America as he thinks its easier to get fights at the level you need and they have a level just below world class what we dont have. I would say hes on the level of Macklin etc... at Middleweight but Craig is goign for LMW i heard. Grendal will know more.
I was thinking, he'll be a big LMW! Quite like McEwan, and he's a Scot so I'm interested in seeing where he goes from here... How does everyone think he'd have fared against Forrest had he not died?
Yeh hell be big I think Forrest would have beaten him IMO but in a good learning fight and McEwan aint embarrased either. Forrest just abit too skilled and experianced IMO
I thought the same thing, but as you said it would have been a great learning fight for him and by the sound of it the guys pretty sound and down to an earth so he'd probably take a loss well.
yeh well he took the fight in the first place would have been a good technical fight where McEwan would have learnt (although he said he learnt alot from sparring Forrest) it wouldnt have been a fight that would have destroyed either guy. McEwan would have learnt and Forrest would have probably got a shot at his old WBC belt.
