Overall, I agree; though Margo did hurt him when he finally started landing flush (as PTP admitted after the fight). Also, Pavlik at 160 is a much harder puncher in absolute (rather than P4P) terms that anything PW has faced before, so I wouldn't be surprised if this had a short-but-sweet, Hagler/Hearns-esque result.

It's a possible but for now i gotta go with marquez-diaz fight. Runner up Ortiz-Maidana but we still have 4 months to go so we might witness more fight of the year candidates.

Considering the styles of the two combatants Pavlik/Williams may set a record for most punches ever thrown in a single round of a middleweight fight.

He wasn't badly hurt; he just got up and walked around, took the count and shook his head "No Mas" style. He was beating Maidana up a lot more than Maidana was him, and he was very much in the fight. That's no reason to quit. If he were getting a savage beat-down, it would have been different.

not sure anyone can just develop a beard to stand up to KP and margo hurting him is no big deal...he has cinderblocks in his gloves....his chin will def be tested...i like the punisher to win by ko but it should be a great fight

Marquez - Diaz is pretty clearly in front for me. However i definately think that Cotto - Pacquiao will end up as fight of the year.

I agree. When you look at this fight from a realistic and unbiased point of view taking into account each fighters recent level of competition and what stage the comp was at that point in their career. You then look at the overall skills of each fighter and you can see the beginings of a mismatch. Cotto has but one thing to solve thats the speed of Pac. Cotto has shown he can handle faster fighters nobody can deny that fact. Pac struggles with good boxers and counterpunchers that nobody can deny. So not only does Pac have to overcome a skilled fighter and a pretty good counter puncher he has to deal with constant pressure for 12 rounds(maybe less) he has to deal with the power, strength, and fighting a fighter who will probally be 155-160 come fight night. To much to overcome for a very good fighter with limited skills. Oh by the way FOTY JMM vs Diaz so far but I think Pav vs Williams might exede that. Also I think JMM vs May will be better than expected.

    ^ exactly.
He had never faced anyone who is gonna be as heavy as Cotto is gonna be.
also what is this with Cotto all of a sudden being slow. Cottos speed is pretty damn good and has always been underrated. He was constatnly beating Mosley to the punch.
People are just high on Pacs recent wins. I have seen this all before.

I am seriously thinking about placing some serious money come fight night if the odds are good enough.

From a long term historical prespective I would go with Mayweather/Marquez
from an excitment point I'd go with Pacquiao/Cotto.
