Recession means companies laying off people, credits are witheld, companies can't make loans from the bank to pay off salaries of their employees, etc. The overall effect is less take home pay for the middle class workers. Therefore, priority of people on their disposable income is for basic necessities like food, rent, medicines, etc. No money left for luxury items like PPVs, cable tv, etc. Do you understand what I am saying? Very simple econmics for a simple mind like you.
