Shane Mosley says hi. That's a ridiculously general statement. Whether a fighter can move down depends entirely on that fighter.
You're just deliberately being stubborn now. I pay a monthly subscription for Sky Sports so I'll definitely be tuning in to see how he looks.
You're not taking into account Floyd's age. Plus I highly doubt Floyd has ever carried 9lbs of water weight in his life:deal
Mmmm. It's an interesting one. I just don't think it's a comparable situation now. His body has matured and that sounds like a lot of water weight to be losing. Sounds dangerous but, as I said, if he can make 140 then it would be great although I think it plays into Pac's hands a bit.
EZE, you have been a poster for so long and you should know that weights make or break a fight. The weigh-in weights are entirely different from the post=weighin or fight time weight. If JMM comes in at 140 during weigh-in, then baloons to 147, all he gained was water. On the other hand, Mayweather has to cut weight to make it to 140 and he had to cut body mass, may it fat or muscle. That is a 4 morepunds of flesh to cut. He will regain it oin weight by rehydrating but that is water. When JMM, a barely 135 fighter, challenged Mayweather, a legitimate 147 fighter, an ideal catchweight would be down the middle of probably 140-142. You do not ask ssomeone to move as high as just 3 pounds north of your fighting weight. Now if he is man enough, he could have said "I will fight you at your weight and spank you around to prove to you that I am greater even at your weight division." Of course he can not do it because he simply can not even make it even to 140. And how many of those weights that FMJ claimed are documented. Even post-weighin are not documented as only IBF does it.
I'm looking forward to the fight, i haven't got the greatest boxing knowledge but for me its a pretty exciting fight. i don't think you can count marquez out even though pbf will be huge favourite. i can't see what marquez can bring that pbf hasn't encountered before but still.....you never know
When you move up in weight and stay in shape like Mayweather or Pac does year round. They can easily make the weigh. ****, Kermit Cintron stayed in perfect shape year round and he was cutting 20lbs to make 147. Ask his ex condition trainer who post here
Of course but if both fighters on fight night will weight under 147. What's the difference? The difference is, cutting 4 or 7lbs. Balloons ? He would REHYDRATE to 147 if he did that. JMM would have to cut weight to make 140 if he gained 7lbs after the weigh in. :nut Mayweather stated he was weighing 146/147 weeks back. Why would he need to lose muscle mass to make 140? Floyd is a small WW and should be fighting at 140. He didn't go to 140 because he was challenged. If he challenges Pac and goes after him, instead of letting Pac chase him, then he should go to 140. It's the unofficial weights by HBO. But Floyd himself said he as 146/147 weeks back. Why would he lie?
The last time Floyd made it to 140 was against Gatti, 4 years ago. When a boxer ages, cutting weights become more difficult. I do not care wheter FMJ is superhuman or not, but definitely, he can not make it to 140 without losing something.. Surely, he could probably still be at 140 but he will lose something in the end. If Hoya, who ifought as high as 160 can come in at 142 agaibnst Pac, then surely FMJ, who is a 147 fighter can go down to 140. See the point! Cutting weights can be done but that is not there is to it.
Mosley even older didn't make 147 for 3 years. Yet he was fine. If you take of your body, YOU CAN cut weight and be perfectly fine. When a boxer ages and doesn't take care of themselves ala Ricky Hatton, you will harder time cutting weight. Floyd naturally walks around at 147 as it is. And if he's really 146/147, he's lighter than Pac. :deal Why would he lose something? He'd be cutting water weight, something that he did at a lower weight. He'd be cutting less at a higher weight, which is a lot easier. DLH didn't cut water weight. He lost muscle mass and was weighing 147 during camp.
