I think it was the Liakhovich fight that finished him. Actually, both of them, neither has looked good since that fight. Todays heavyweights are so big, they just can't beat the **** out of each other for 12 rounds like the smaller guys do without consequences.
You're from indianapolis just like Lamon. Can't believe you call him a nobody, he's done well as a heavyweight. Beat Wlad, Golota and Krasniqi as a belt holder.
He may not have had great skills but he had great heart and his fights were usually entertaining. His fight against Lyakhovich was one of the best HW fights of the decade.
That's what I think, too. The good news is that they both parlayed that fight into other big fights, so hopefully they invested their money well. That was the best, if not the biggest, HW of the decade IMO.
I like Brewster a lot but I always knew that you don't have to be a particularly good fighter to beat him. Just know how to box a little and take a couple hard shots here and there. In his 2 biggest victories he was way behind on the cards before his opponents gassed. Lyhakovich could have had an easier time had he not stood toe-to-toe with Lamon but he did and he got ruined in the process despite winning the fight.
LOL, right... Golota is just a bum hanging around gyms getting knocked out and has no skill. Had Golota been smarter he'd have punished Brewster something fierce.
Past it? Bowe just came off big wins over Holyfield. What a load of ****. The Bowe camp thought they'd walk through Golota.
Golota is a vast underachiever in your eyes. In my eyes he's just where history has him, an overpaid fighter On a serious note, Golota was a good boxer in his heyday, he used to literally beat the living **** out of David Tua in sparring.
