Why isn't the first O in Wlad's name pronounced phonetically?

 

It is spelled more correctly than Vladimir. If you pronounce it the way it is spelled above it will be more correct.

 

Or you guys could learn the Ukranian way of saying his name?

I'm not Ukrainian but I think his name has the German spelling.

 

Yeah, I was just gonna say, why doesn't Volod just put his foot down with the western boxing media? It's not as though "Wladimir" is particularly Americanized. May as well enforce the proper speaking of his actual name.
