I don't know if paul knows this But hbo had offer Cloud to fight on Dawson vs Johnson undercard fight so that if Cloud and Dawson wins on the same night they both will fight each other on hbo but Cloud and his team turn it down.

For a small LHW, Cloud is very flat-footed. This will be his undoing against a taller fighter with a good jab, and in that sense he's a little too similar to Jeff Lacy. He caught a lot of leather versus a badly faded Woods. Hopefully, he'll learn something from it, though.

Cloud's people made a mistake turning down the HBO fight. They had a guarantee to get the winner of Dawson/Johnson II, and now what? I'd like to see a bout against Pascal, but Diaconu still factors in there as well.

As for Dawson, he's taking the fights that make the most financial sense. Unfortunately, if he beats Johnson this fall, the next fight that probably makes the most sense is Hopkins -- another old guy.

But Hopkins certainly would be the favorite over Cloud, and Johnson might, too.

so Cloud won a decision vs Clinton it was not a dominanat display or a severe beatdown by a young Lion and Woods is past it. I am not impressed by Cloud and Dawson would clearly and handily beat his ass.

Cloud is NOT ready for the big boys just yet.

Woods is FAR from peak anymore yet he made Cloud look foolish at times, after round 2 I thought Woods may even school him. Clouds power certainly didn't have the same effect on Woods as some deluded people may have thought.

Cloud has heart, decent (not great) punch and a half decent chin but thats it.
He looked very tired against Woods at times and a bit lost when Woods landed some good combos and pushed Cloud back.

I agree with the guy who said if Woods was 5 years younger Cloud would have been in touble, as last night Cloud still looked raw, hungry and determined which won the fight, but still raw.

As for Teddy Atlas, I hope to god he is NEVER allowed near a judges score card....EVER.
Atlas is a moron who should retire before senility kicks in hard and he starts talking about the war and wearing a **** sack for his weakening bladder.

EVERY judge....Cloud wins by 4 rounds.
    Me.................Cloud wins by 5 rounds.
    Atlas..............Cloud wins by 47 rounds.

It's a fight that needs to happen I feel. Add Pascal in the mix and we have some thrillers awaiting us all in within the next twelve months or so.

Dawson would dominate Cloud. Woods arguably beat Cloud last night by outboxing him a little more than Cloud teed off on him, and Dawson moves a lot better in and out than Woods. Dawson wide UD.

Poor analysis there, Dawson was just responding to critics who were saying that he has a bad chin. He never admitted that he had a bad chin. Cloud hits harder than Johnson and may have more energy, but Johnson has the better defense and they just fight differently too.

Cloud's essentially still a contender-level fighter who happens to have a belt. He's not ready for Dawson, and I don't think he's ready for Pascal or Campillo either.

What he should do is fight more often now since he's basically still learning on the job. Throwing him to the top of the division-even though it's still not that deep when you consider 2 of the titlists there were at best, lower top 10 at 168-wouldn't be a smart move right now.

Average age of Dawson's last 3 fights: 39
Average age of Calzaghe's last 3 fights: 37

And that's not counting the upcoming Johnson rematch, which would put Dawson's average right at 40, nor does it take into account that Joe's old himself. I don't hate on Chad for it because that's the best of what's available right now in what's pretty much a barren division, but let's not misinterpret things here. :thumbsup

after not winning decisively against woods cloud remains unproven enough. he did reach kessler's level of 'proven' , but that's still not enough to call chad out. as i already said in the forum - at this stage chad will calzaghe-lacy cloud. i bet that if chad accepts cloud's invitation , cloud will find a way out of it. cloud called out chad only because he knew that chad has better things to do - bigger money to earn. don't the fans want a rematch with Johnson ? isn't it what they called for after the first fight ?
so they'll get it. after dawson cleans out the 175 (or 168) divisions , cloud will make a povetkin-klitschko and stay undefeated.

I would love to see this fight but Dawson would take it. Too many combos too many angles. Chad would land the cleaner harder shots be the ring general. Not to mention Chad's defense is light years better than Clouds'.

you know i hate chad dawson every since his first fight with Glen when he said "the fans

know who won this fight" and then even i booed the T.V. that being said though i think

that Cloud is still a little inexperienced and Dawson would win at this point in their careers.
