    Even supposed "light-hitters" can usually hurt their opponents with combinations or break them down over a few rounds. Example, Billy Conn hurt Joe Louis with crisp combinations, but he had few KOs and his one-punch power was relatively weak, (interesting, some of his few KO wins are over good fighters/heavyweights). Harry Greb is another, his punches hurt because he threw so many of them, he beat the crap out of men but some say he didn't have a punch.

    Maybe Max Rosenbloom was a guy that really didn't hurt his opponents, even with combinations. I'd have to look into that.

    Calzaghe caried a prety servicable wallop early in his career before his hands started to crumble.

    It was his hand problems that forced him to adopt his current slapping style.

    Harry Greb's style revolved around never setting his weight; often dubbed a 'pitter-patter' puncher...that guy wasn't too bad.

    When did the hand problems start, because he slapped plenty against Eubank and was described as a 'slapper' going into that fight. I think he just gets sloppy because he goes for quantity over quality, he slapped worse in old age but he was always an arm puncher and always resorted to slaps at times.

    How many opponents has Calzaghe actually left sparked out for 10?

    An equally interesting question is who looked like they should have been able to punch, but could hardly hurt anyone.

    Zuri Lawrence is a great candidate for that honor.
