I won't say Cotto is ruined by Margarito, we still don't know that and I doubt losing to Pacman means he's ruined. The Clottey fight he got cut badly early and that screwed up his performance yet still managed to pull it off.

    Foreman vs Ali
Bowe vs Holyfield(Bowe won the trilogy but sacrificed his self in the process)
    Morales vs Pacquiao

    1. I dont think Hopkins ruined Trinidad. Tito ended his career himself. Got tired of training. Can't blame him after so many years. But Tito never belonged ove 154lbs.

    2. Don't agree with Hatton/Floyd either. There was nothing to ruin there to beging with. Hatton has never done anything good @147lbs

    3. I don't think Cotto is ruined. that doesn't mean he is going to beat Manny. But I think he has a serious chance.

    4. As far as we know Margarito ruined himself by cheating. But we don't know how much he has left.

Again, Morales was another case where the inability to make a lesser weight really hurt Morales...he made a living off of beating up smaller fighters...he looked awful and was exposed by Zahir Raheem.

I think Ward ruined Gatti, not Mayweather.
And more likely that Barrera ruined Morales, not Pacquiao.

Pavlik, for all this shortcomings, ruined Miranda (even if Abraham beat him first) and Taylor.

Weight/Wars ruined Morales, he had no more legs after the first Pac fight.

The debate still rages about whether or not Cotto was ruined physically by the Margarito beating. Some say we should wait a while before we make that statement, but personally I don't think he'll ever be the same.

I've been watching Cotto fight since about his 3rd pro bout and have seen the vast majority of his fights since then and what I saw aginst Clottey was a version of Cotto I hadn't seen in about 5 years or more. The Margo beating definitely knocked back his ability a few years.

Against Clottey, Miguel was slower handed than we're used to seeing him, his timing was off, he was easier to hit, and his stamina dropped off a lot sooner than I've ever seen in one of his fights. I mean, he was completely gassed by about the 7th round. I don't know, either Cotto didn't train hard for that fight, which I find unlikely, or Cotto is truly on the decline.

 That's a good one! Actually the fact that Vitali lost the race for mayor kept his boxing career going. His political career is still alive but IMO should wait until he's completely done with boxing.

I disagree. I honestly believe Morales gave it his all in the first Pacquiao fight and was beating on Pacquiao early in the rematch and nearly had him DOWN in the first round. Pacman's noticeable commitment to body punching(something he ditched in the first fight) is what broke Morales down, slowed him and saw him beyond exhausted/hurt.

The Raheem fight Morales moved up in weight in an attempt to stay there because he couldn't make it at super feather anymore and wanted the Pac rematch to take place there if all went well against Raheem. It was just a case of terrible matchmaking by Arum, Raheem is a WRONG opponent for someone moving up for the purpose of "testing", Raheem used movement and speed to outland Morales who was clearly frustrated since round 3.

Boxing is an amazingly unforgiving sport compared to others. You can be done in one night, where in other sports it is usually a slow steady decline.
