It's very rare that a fighter can do that. Yeah, he's hard not to like. Dawson v Johnson rematch should be a good fight and one I am looking forward to.
If there is a single variable to give credit to about the way Pac defeated or "broke down" Morales...it was the new "right hook" that Pac developed. It hurt Morales every time it landed...again developed by the Pac camp after the schooling that Raheem gave Morales.
RIP Forrest. It was funny as hell when Mayorga said that Forrest should start sending him "Father's Day Cards". :rofl
Not taking jabs at Forrest in any way because of his passing, however, Forrest's inability to bounce back to form after those fights because he clearly didn't follow a "boxer's" game plan clearly bruised his career. RIP Vernon Forrest no doubt.
Yup...in my mind, this fight will ultimatley define Chad's progression as a fighter...the two wins against Tarver really haven't told us very much about Chad's progress.
I disagree with Trinidad/Hopkins and Margarito/Molsey. Trinidad retired after that fight, so can't say if he was ruined. He came back and knocked out Mayorga, then lost a decision to Winky, who's style was the worst matchup for Tito. Mayorga has not fought since, so I don't even know why you added him to your list. Can probably add Taylor/Chavez to your list and possibly Cotto/Margarito (still too soon to tell on this one).
Hatton ruined by Mayweather? Trinidad by Hopkins? Judah by Tszyu? Margarito by Mosley? Considering he hasn't fought after yet? As usual you are clueless. Losing even by KO doesn't mean you are ruined... sigh. Are you also one of those guys that calls anyone who isn't elite, bums?
The body punches too, Pac didn't commit to them even though they said they will in the first fight at all. Pac's approach in the first fight had far too many glimpses of him trying to end it with one punch. The body shots played a major role in breaking him down as did the right hook, Morales nearly went down in the 6th from body shots at the end of the round.
True...but, I attributed that to the fact that he was still trying to make 130. He was depleated by trying to make the weight and couldn't handle an extensive body attack.
That's right...that's why I can't understand why anyone criticizes any fighter for not "leaving it in the ring" if they're experiencing an "off night". It could cost him his career or his life.
Johnson's 32-0 was against horrific opposition. His losing streak was nothing to do with being 'ruined', he simply lost whenever he encountered decent opposition. He was still winning after fighting Hopkins, whenever he fought the same level of opposition that he was winning against before he fought Hopkins.
Hatton was already ruined before Pacquaio...After Floyd knocked him out he never looked the same in a fight again...
