Boxing is ill if someone like Sakio Bika doesn't get the fights he deserves

He is a windmill like fighter no different than Margarito he is **** according to 99% of the fans including the one who posted this, the mans style is exactly like Margaritos meaning he dont have any skills there for he must not be worthey of a shot.

Honestly I dont feel that way, but the author of this thread seems to say this man deserves this but yet others dont and those others at one point have done so much more than the man he is balking about right now.

 

Keep in mind Bika did get his shots. It's not like he was kept on the outside looking in completely.

But he's an obvious high-risk/low-reward fighter in a very deep division where people have lots of options. That is, unfortunately, bad luck. And is nothing new in the sport.

And yes, boxing is ill. Bika's situation is far from the only reason.

Exactly! Its a shame how we are letting this alphabet soup dictate the sport. So much is put on these fake titles, and fancy belts, and rankings and P4P, and all this crap that people forget about the art of the sport. Sakio has put on fantastic performances in the ring, he deserves a shot at the "next level".

 

He got a shot against Calzaghe and Bute. He fought well imo and made those fights. He was the actual fight in these matchups . He should look to fight more on ESPN than wasting time trying to get another big shot. Fight , fight , and fight is what he should be doing. He is exciting.

 

I was really hoping that this fight came off too - but understand why Green took the other fight - it's simply business. So instead of doing busy with the rival company HBO - he decided to stay with Showtime to broaden his options with the tournament - can't blame him for that one.

 

Unfortunately, Bika is in "no man's land"...he is a spoiler and is too much risk for the reward...fighters like him have to just keep on winning until he is unavoidable.

Bika's problem is that he is a card carrying member of the "Who The **** Needs That Guy" club!! He does not hold a major title. Beating him won't get you a shot at a major title. He's double tough, awkward, and dirty as hell; he's all head and elbows! If I were a manager or promoter I would not let him in the same room with any of my fighters unless the reward made the risk worthwhile. Right now, he's high risk, low reward.

 

Is Bika still with Jeff Wald and The Tournament of Contenders. Wald sucks. I've heard a whole litany of complaints about him from Contender fighters. Mora, for example, felt very strongly that Pavlik was able to blow him off because Wald is chump change.
