IMO this slow, boring and non competitive division should be eliminated many a cruiserweight have already in the past moved up to heavyweight and been very successful. Lightheavy division makes sense still, but cruiserweight has to go. Vote and thoughts Please!

If anything, it should develop into the new Heavyweight division. The heavies are too broad to be competitive.

Lower the heavy limit to 195lbs and scrap it. It's a major factor in the decline of the heavyweight division. Especially it's excitement.

I would just lower the limit to 190 rather than scrap it, we're losing too many smaller heavyweights to it.

dunno, you may end up having some very small hw then compared to people like the klits. that would mean they have no shot especially if they cant get to th lhw limit

I personally would only like to see the old divisions back, no Cruiser Weight, no Light Middleweight, no Super Middleweight, no Light Welterweight, etc...

they certainly need to do something with it

maybe change the name of it or something. because they definitely need to get more attention its just the "cruiser" its consided a halfway house its inbetween two glamour division

its a shame because they're in shape, athletic, mobile and with power, much better then these obese heavyweights

Interesting. I voted to keep it as is, but now ya'll got me thinkin' about it.

MAYBE if things went back to the way it used to be, it might get some of the bigger guys motivated to stay in shape so they don't get out boxed and what not by a smaller and faster fighter?

Great question. In the old days, the HW division was dominated by fighters who were small compared to recent HW champions. Part of the thrill of this division was watching small men demolish bigger men. When Joe Choynski KO'd Jack Johnson in 3, Jack Dempsey slaughtered Jess Willard in 3, Max Baer put Primo Carnera on the canvas 11 times, Marciano knocked Joe Louis and Rex Layne into the 5th dimension, it was usually an upset.

The HW division is now just a bunch of fat giants punching each other in slow motion. Tyson and holyfield are the last great champions.

To those who say they'd be too small, Frazier would be the same size. Ali not much bigger. Marciano would be smaller. Talent is a bigger factor than size.

But the "big guys" of the past were 6' 3", whereas now they're over 7' in some cases. The point is that there are lots of talented guys that are too big for Light Heavyweight but naturally too small to be able to take on guys that are 6' 6" and above - who require another division to accommodate them.

size has **** to do with it ask evander holyfield very successful cruiser and heavy weight. this division is the pits and part of the reason where wasting our time watching adamek fight the bums he's fighting all of these current cruiserweights can easily gain 10 lbs or so and be competitive. Otherwise the heavyweight division will be **** for a whole lot longer. None of these guys may beat the Klitschko's but would be competitve and maybe defeat the rest of the obese slobs that contaminate the heavyweight division. Dont blame the Klitschkos for knowing how to put the ****ing fork down.

This. Let's throw out the alphabet titles while we're at it and get back to a unified champion format. In short, let's go old school and see how good the new school really is. That's the only way to do it.

Not that any of that would ever happen, though.
