I like Duran by TKO around round 9 at 140. He really is well-suited to dismantle Aaron. Most opponents wilt under Pryor's swarming attack coupled with his chin, angles and workrate -- yeah, he's open, but so what? He can take a good shot. Can you take his? Can you trade? Can you box, then? Duran has the presence of mind to deal with the offense Pryor brings to the table, has the ability inside, and has that overhand right to counter with. He loves a battle -- thrives during mutual mental harship -- and would be the most relaxed man ever to endure Pryor's seemingly wild panic-inducing pressure. Duran has more technical ability, and a mental edge, is defensively better, plus a superior inside game. Pryor's advantages are physical -- but it's not enough. Duran by close decision or late TKO -- in a fight that was competitive but Duran had a clear edge throughout.
I think Duran has an answer to anything Pryor brings to him, it would be entertaining but a fired up, well trained Duran is far too much for Pryor .. I'm a little more interested in how 2 other fights involving Pryor would go, considering that Duran is a step too far .. Pryor v Pernell Whitaker Pryor v Julio Cesar Chavez
I suspect that he means "Hearnsed" like in Hearns against Hagler, when he went for the brawl and got "Hearnsed"
Pryor had an offer to fight Duran but was going through managerial problems at the time. By the time he finally sorted out the managerial problems, the offer was off the table and Duran looked elsewhere.
duran takes pryor apart easily. He'd be too skilled defensively and accurate with his punches. Anyone who'd leave himself open against duran like pryor did would be in for a terrible beating. Pryor was a counterpunchers dream and duran was one of the best there ever was. Add this to the fact that duran had ko power in both fists and you have a tko somewhere around the 7th.
****in mouthwatering, It would be a classic as in Duran dishing out a brutal savage clinic in how 2 beat an opponant 2 death, you'd see the tide turn for the worse for pryor around the 5th & then it'll be the slow & oh so painfull dismantling process & Pryor would have 2 be gulping from the "black bottle" every round just to get to 12, he'd not make 15, outclassed in all departments here & what can he do thats better than Duran:think ****-all, it's a TKO stretcher case:smoke
At 140 I'd give Duran the nod for a clear decision victory. As others have mentioned, if Arguello could land cleanly quite a bit on Pryor, imagine what Duran would do. Duran's defense would be the difference. But he would need to come in at his peak, well-trained and hungry.
Gotta love Pryor's relentless attack. But Duran was a master boxer. The combination of aggression and skill proves to much for Pryor.
