I just got word that the PA commission overturned Minto-Holmes, and made it a NC.

Good job by these commissions in righting these hometown rulings.

A punch opened up a cut on Minto, and he quit.

From what I understand Minto and his camp claim there was a clash of heads but in careful tape reviews there was no such thing. So it seems Minto was looking for the easy way out. There's one guy on this forum who seems to thinks Minto is next big thing in the heavyweight divivion.

the ref ruled it from a butt, so they went to the cards. Replays show the cut was from a punch..................

Good call on overturning the decision.

It's nothing a rematch shouldn't be able to sort out, and ideally, turning it into a NC should make that more likely to happen.

Actualy I think that the first decission is final, as far as betting goes.

Out of curiosity, what kind of odds you were getting for Holmes?

A TKO win for Holmes would have been the proper result, however except in cases of scorecard math errors, I cant recall ever seeing a commission put a loss on a guys record in an administrative process. Typically they just rule it a no contest or a technical draw, and let the fighters get it on again..........

I agree, Minto quit. There should be a rematch, but Brian won't fight Donnell again. I'd like to see this fight take place on a big Vegas undercard.

It's just ridiculous that Larry Holmes is still fighting at his age. He's a sick old man and should be at home hiding.
