Big mistake. IMO Hatton clearly overtrained as he prepared for something special, but the thing is, you gotta stick to the normal way of training, and you can still put plenty of extra mental strength in the camp. But extra work doesn't always pay off, and Cotto might peak too early.
Smart move by Cotto in increasing his fight preparation. Considering his prior stamina issues and that Pac is the definition of perpetual motion, he can certainly use the added conditioning in what will be the biggest fight of his career.
I'm not so sure if I'm liking this. But like someone mentioned, if it's just to get the timing and speed with light training I guess it should be all right and Cotto won't peak too soon.
It won't be hard to "lure" Pac into a battle. Just get into the ring and he'll be in front of you....as well as in and out of every other concieveable direction in the ring.
Nah....too many people blame over training or being weight drained or shot for how a fighter looks. Styles make fights and it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks...Plus if you got a fighter like PAC he too can make a great fighter look ordinary or just very good.
I am going to go out on a limb and think Cotto and his team know what he should be doing right now...and they are PROBABLY going to not peak too early since he has beenn around for awhile and knows about this
I remember when he was fighting Margarito he began early.........I hope that doesn't affect this one.
