    1 - Lewis
    2 - Fitzsimmons
    3 - Farr
    4 - Cooper
    5 - Bugner
    6 - Bruno
    7 - Williams
    8 - Cockell
    9 - Hide
    10 - London

Feel free to take the **** out of my selections. This was a ******* to try and do, really difficult.

If you took Lewis and Fitz out of the equation then you could probably have Mexico fielding a more impressive top-10 Heavyweight list than the UK & Ireland.

PS: My lack of knowledge in this area may also have been a bit of a stumbling block.:smooch

cockell had his best wins over ranked americans harry kid matthews and roland la starza

so he probably has as many wins against ranked america as most others being considered

The main thing going against Cockell is he got defeated heavily by Randy Turpin despite outweighting him by nearly a stone.

Hide and Akinwande are the next two.

They both won WBO titles, but Hide swerved all the best domestic opposition pretty much, stopped Bentt, beat a few clowns before being whooped by Bowe.

Then won the WBO again, did the same thing before running into Klitschko.

His only really notable win as a heavy was over Tony Tucker, who had already been softened up by both Tyson and Lewis years previously.

What I want to know is why are people including Hide in their lists, but not Akinwande? I hope its not to do with him hugging Lewis all night in their fight....

How the hell you got Joe Erskine and Brian London, not to mention Akinwande and Hide above Bruce Woodcock?

Woodcock beat Freddie Mills twice and Gus Lesnevich who is a HOF'er. Even a check of Boxrec will show Woodcock knocked out Lesnevich for the full count, the only time in his career - quite impressive. He managed to get a DQ win over Lee Savold also.

Plus his overall record is not blighted by tons of losses to questionable opposition. He lost twice at the end of his career to good opposition and only twice through his better years - again against good opponents.

The apathy towards poor old Bruce astounds me!

He fought some of the top heavyweights of his time including Louis, Braddock and Baer and wasnt embaressed by any of them. He also beat Baer and Burman in England whilst losing to them in America, I feel he may have been robbed which gives me the feeling he may have had some dodgy decisions against him in the States. I cant see who can be in front of him, fourth is the least he deserves.

Is this aimed at me? I've already posted some thoughts prior to my list, I had a good think about it before I wrote it. It seems pretty fair to me. I can give you reasons why I've put people where I have similar to why I put Farr in fourth above but frankly I dont have the time. Some of the other lists look far more worthy of criticism than mine. If everyone wants my full reasoning I'll happily oblige but so should everybody else.

    Thats pretty much my thinking.
