Freddie Roach: Manny is taking this fight way too lightly. It's the toughest fight!

It's also going to get to the people that Roach is subtly criticizing who also wield influence with Manny. It's just bad business to air your issues publicly - especially before a fight.

If this were theatre I might even believe that this is to throw Cotto's camp off, but these guys are professionals and I would assume that they are keeping this information from him.

 

I see it now... Manny and his team will be attributing the lose to not preparing correctly and blame the immigration issue as the cause. "I didn't get to train how I normally do".

 

The help? Really? Where the hell would Pac be without Freddy? They won't even let Roach talk to Manny and he's the most IMPORTANT INFLUENCE Manny's got, something like Tyson-Custamato, and we seen what happend there.

 

He probably didn't need to tell the world about this but he's trying to stress the level of importance to a man half the world away who he can't communicate with at the moment. I'de be frustrated myself...

 

This is like the third or fourth time he's released comments like this. At first I liked hearing it because it makes it seem as though Cotto will be better prepared. Now I think he's purposely leaking this stuff out to boost Cotto's confidence and get him to relax his training. Roach knows what he should or should not be saying, so I see this as one of his ploys. That's why he keep repeating these statement - he wants to make sure Cotto hears it. It's worthless though, Cotto is not dumb enough to fall for it.

 

You're an idiot, Freddy's the help? Manny would still be a one dimensional fighter not even top 10 P4P without Freddy. Manny's people are just taking advantage of Manny and doing nothing to better his boxing career, they're just trying to get as much money out of him as they can.

 

You're a ****ing idiot. Roach need's to make sure he gets his guy in tip top shape. When a fighter does bad, it is often a reflection of the trainer and impacts their business. Look at all the **** people were talking about Mayweather Snr after Hatton got laid out. Roach is probably the one person who really cares about Pac.

 

No ploy...I don't think so. I beleive he's feeling the frustration of battling for Pac's focus.

 

This is all obviously gamesmanshipatsch He's a hypocrite for criticizing Floyd Sr. of the same.

 

It is nice to see him frustrated like this. Especially after how confident he was about the fight before. It will be like Rocky's first fight against Clubber Lang (Mr. T).
