Floyd Mayweather Jr is such an elite boxer but unfortunatly he does not have the resume to back that up. His best wins are clearly Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales and his wins against Castillo,Gatti,DLH, and Hatton were good wins but those werent elite fighters.

Floyd needs to be in a war with a great elite fighter that has the tools to actualy beat him. JMM is a great fighter but it is uncertain if he has the power or the chin to really test Floyd. Pac and Cotto are more of the complete fighters but Cotto has been ruined and Pac will probably get ruined by Cotto. Then there is Mosley who is a little past his prime so thers always that excuse.

With that been said its not Floyds fault he hasnt faught an elite fighter its just very unfortunate because you cant rate him extremly high on the ATG list because of this.

When he beats JMM it would be in his best intrest to help pay Cotto that step aside money so he can catch a pime Pacquiao, beat him beat Cotto and finally get the props he deserves. If not i cant see him climbing up the ATG list any higher than where he already is.

    Oscar isn't elite??:think....If he's not then Mosley isn't either.:deal

If Floyd hasn't fought an elite fighter nobody has.

    Cotto isn't elite....Tony proved that...and he ain't **** eighter.

Just because you're at the top of a weight class doesn't mean you're elite..it just means the division is shallow.:hi:

and Hatton was elite until Floyd through a left check hook.

Hatton was p4p #1 for a while after he beat stzu and everybody knew floyd didnt stand a chance after finishing off castillo with a body shot

    Exactly..

The word elite doesn't spring to mind when I look at the WW division.

disagree with some of your post cotto was elite and we will see if he still is. But tony may have taken some of his elitinism with pressure, good hand wrapping skills and good padding removing habits. we will know were cotto stands in nov. i hope he wins!

If Hatton is that great of a fighter that makes Pacs resume even better....ODLH was clearly out of his prime when Mayweather fought him so yeah ODLH is an elite fighter Flotd just got him whenhe was shot

He has a very impressive resume.

Problem is it isn't a hugely boasting resume for a WELTERWEIGHT, comparing Cotto's, Mosley's or even Margarito's.
