I wouldn't give Hatton much chance against a very big welter. Hatton is a small guy, with a small reach. Light Welter is his weight. The guys at welter seem to be alot naturally bigger (although weight just a little more).
How much food is on Hattons table and how much is on the Hatton haters table? Hes extremely living it large and his critics aint. The mans set for life, so is his kids and so on. Hes lived the life the esb haters can only dream of and will never reach in reality. How ****in funny is that?
The way Hatton fought PAC generated a lot of bashing... It's understandable since how can you appreciate a good boxer fighting almost no defense against someone like PAC... He let the fans down coz he fought stupid, using his face to block shots... Sorry about that but that's the way it is... .
I agree man Hatton lost alot of fans in the Pac fight because of his dumb tactics. Just lacked basic defence and going KO crazy against an Elite level fighterr was ridiculous.
IMO, it's time for Hatton to call it a day. If he wants his comeback to be successful, he needs to change his fighting style completely. I doubt very much if he can do that. Easier said than done, right?
I think Ricky was great for boxing. Very entertaining in your face brawler that was never boring. He had the rare opportunity to fight two P4P #1s, and showed that he doesn't quite belong up there with the very best which is no shame at all. He has the very best fans by far. A future Hall Of Famer. But it's time for him to step aside and retire. But before you retire Ricky, you must watch this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XEbmVgu3qk&fmt=18
He's finished dude. He's been ko'd twice and got his lights shut off against Pacquiao. Once you get knocked out in devastating fashion like that, their's a big possibility it can happen again. And to be truthfully honest Hatton was never that good anyway.
I bet Duran was finished and worthless after Hearns KO'd him in 2, right? How about Frazier and Norton after fighting Foreman?, Tyson after losing to Douglas?, Holyfield after losing to Bowe?, Hearns after losing to Hagler?, Pacquiao after getting KO'd twice early in his career?, Lewis after McCall 1 and Rahman 1? There are endless examples to wake some up. He's not finished, he can still do good if he continues to fight. Like Duran, he was simply overpowered and didn't get a chance to apply any tactic. Pac went in there and stunned/rocked him from the first clean punch he landed, tha'ts called OVERPOWERED. He wasn't dominated for full 12 one-sided rounds, he barely got to warm up in there and Pac's power proved to be too much. That happens in boxing and happened to MANY including ATG class fighters.
Hatton is a fighter id always tune in to watch.Ok he lost his 2 biggest fights but he is still good to watch. He creates a good atmosphere and you get your moneys worth from Ricky. The same move every time vid is funny though.
He might get "bashed" a bit too much, but you have to remember that before those two fights he and his legion of fans were trying to convince people that he was going to win! Obviously the other side is going to gloat as Hatton comes crashing back down to reality. I think a lot of people are also tempted into hatton-bashing because the hype surrounding him has never been matched by his abilities; to the complete ignorance of his fans and most of Britton! He has finally been exposed as the over hyped maul merchant more astute people though he was! Fabulous!
It's Hatton who is taking the punches, not us. I think he will fight another fight, but he does not need the money.
