Tszyu and Castillo were also both over the hill especially Castillo who you can argue was shot and look at his fight previous to Hatton he was terrible. Hopkins went on to dismantle Kelly Pavlik after losing to Calzaghe so clearly was not shot. Kessler > Malignaggi and Collazo that's not even worth a debate. Cmon mate you clearly prefer Hatton but that is nonsense.
The reason Hatton had more fans was nothing to do with boxing. Do you really think half the pisshead lager louts who travelled to Vegas gave a **** that he was stepping up a division to fight Mayweather? Half of them probably never knew who Floyd was before they signed the fight. He attracted more fans because he was English which has a population of over 15 times that of Wales and the fact that Hatton is a complete extrovert who loves the media and the attention that goes with it as well as being "one of the lads". Calzaghe is a total introvert and liked the quiet family life rather than all the publicity.
Really??? Seriously??? Good points otherwise, although i would still rate calzaghe higher even though his resume isn't what it should be its still not bad. Its easy enough to pick holes in hattons resume also if you want to(That guys shot, he's overrated etc.). it works both ways. Can't help but admire hatton though he had a lot more ambition.
yeh i agree with that, it's like what i said earlier how hatton would do after dinner speeches and as you said generally loved the media spotlight I was saying to no to the fact that whoever it was said he only had a big following due to football holiganism, which is bull**** because even if all the man city holigans supported hatton it would add no more than a couple hundred on
True, its so unlucky to have to fight both those 2 guys within a couple of years of each other. They are both freaks and 2 of the best smaller weight guys P4P since the 1980s at least, dam bad luck if u ask me. He was a good world champion, who beat reigning undisputed king Kostya Tyszu and beat some good contenders. He never convinced at more than 140lbs and should not have given in to Floyds usual ***** demands like that IMO, he was a 140lb and seeing as Floyd could make 140 thats where he should have fought Hatton if he thought he was so great Solid champ but never great, Calzaghe however is a great fighter, terrific talent
