Uhh, I think you forgot the fact that Floyd's big plan of fighting JMM was months already ahead.

Could have been seeing this fight in October already...but alas, PBF needs a tune-up.

In general, PBF has a good resume and career but some journalists (among them Doug Fischer and merchant ) and fans stated repeatedly that PBF has been cherrypicking his opponents for some years. There is certainly some truth in it.

Fact is PBF has been ducking the elite of the WW division. Williams was already a factor, so were Cotto, Maragarito and Mosley. 4 opponents he never faced, Why?!!. For how long has PBF now been a welterweight?!! Surprisingly pac gets those fights done in a hurry.

He conveniently "retired" when it was obvious he would be required to face one of these four:
    Margarito
    Williams
    Cotto
    Mosley

I mean, here we have someone who cried he was NOT getting the exposure or big money fights. So he puts himself in that situation when he beat Hatton and DLH. HE got gig exposure and big money and stood to get even more with big fights at WW....but then he "retired", only to come back for a LW. Floyd's an amazing boxer, but he's an even better con man. :-(

floyd made a lot more cash fighting Hatton and Oscar than he would have fighting cotto and Marg. would you willingly take a cut in your pay?

now that Floyd's body has healed due to his retirement he will be an even greater force in the WW division. he's gonna box circles around cotto's stupid ass

I am not so sure he would make more money in a Hatton fight than Mosley or Cotto fights. Mosley and cotto are well known in the US and have a large fan basis. Cotto is a star in this home country.

Like you, I hope that PBF has ,learned from his mistakes and fights the best and gives the fans finally something.

He still needs to fight the Pac's, Cotto's and Mosely's for me but his resume is good nonetheless.
