SOURCE I think that trying to get a fight against Manny Pacquiao is great motivation to beat Mayweather," stated Juan Manuel Marquez as he shared his thoughts about his upcoming September 19 clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. during an open workout at the Romanza Gym in Mexico City. Marquez, who has faced Pacquiao on two occassions already, has yet to earn a victory after going 24 rounds with the Filipino superstar and that fact irritates the lightweight champion. "I want to remove that thorn in my side and if the fans ask for it, I do not see why we cannot give it to them," Marquez added as he spoke with Salvador Rodriguez of record.com.mx Although Marquez longs for an opportunity to face Pacquiao again, he's extremely focused and ready for the task that lies ahead in Mayweather. "This is a great moment for me and for Mexican boxing and we must seize the moment. I hope the Mexican fans are on the lookout for this fight," Marquez reiterated as he completed a two-hour workout session. "I hope that Mayweather is taking me lightly as they say, because at the moment of truth, the devil will appear," he continued. With the fight taking place at a catch-weight of 144 pounds, Marquez has worked hard to put on the extra pounds that he'll need when he steps into the ring with the naturally bigger Mayweather. "We work everything, both offensively and defensively, but as far as the speed goes, we will not have any problems and will not despair. Every day, I feel better at the weight. Before, I felt very heavy, but now, I feel better," he remarked as he showed off his noticeably bigger, but still ripped physique. Many have already written off Marquez, who's a heavy underdog as far as the odds are concerned. If Mayweather has taken him lightly, however, the three-time world champion could prove to be a much more difficult challenge than many are giving him credit for. If the open workout was any indication, Juan Manuel Marquez will be more than just a tune-up for a guy who hasn't fought in nearly two years.
. I don't think JMM is only hoping for this one... there could be many things more... JMM: "I hope that Mayweather is taking me lightly..." :rofl .
With that said, ain't that much hope in this world lol Mayweather will not be talking Marquez lightly
Same here LOL But JMM is really a funny boxer... I think this is the first time I've heard a boxer hoping that his opponent is taking him lightly... LOL .
I saw a recent news video where JMM commented that he will be fully prepared to take on the best Mayweather there has ever been....... .....who to believe, the words from the man himself, or someone writing an article and translating to english everything Marquez is saying? Make no mistake, Mayweather is'nt taking JMM lightly......here's an article that quoted Mayweather before he had any intention of fighting JMM, as saying that JMM was his favorite fighter to watch......Mayweather went on to call him "the truth, a complete fighter." Here's the link to that article from a journalist who was skeptical that Mayweather would even take the JMM fight...... http://www.boxinginsider.com/headli...respects-marquez-hes-the-truth-total-package/ Mayweather knows a great fighter when he see's one, so I fully expect him to be 100%+ and on his A game. A game vs A game, thats what I want to see....and there is a hell of a chance we'll see just that!!!bbb:yep
:nonoI dont want JMM doing a Pacquiao and beating on the shell of a fighter......... As a huge JMM fan, I want Marquez entering that ring against a Monster.......to win against said Mayweather would truly be for the pride of all of JMM's fans and for the pride of all of Mexico! What a night this could be my brother!!!:yep:bbb
Nahh, unfortunately Floyd is too smart to take him lightly. JMM will just have to hope that he's the better man on that night.
:good You maybe right... There could be something lost in translation since it will be very hilarious for JMM just to hope that Floyd is taking him lightly... It will be so funny if that's all he could hope for... .
