Do you think Mayweather will walk JMM down like he did Judah?

To briefly answer the Thread question, I can see Floyd doing this if he is able to land easily on Marquez early, if not he will opt to pot shot.

But to flip the script for just a second,

This fight is being promoted as if is was a super fight. Both are in the top 3 P4P list but putting P4P lists aside for the moment, this fight to me is a complete mismatch and the only reason why people think Marquez has a chance is because people like to support the underdog and they live in hope thinking that he can actually do it.

Take away all of the hype, the glitz and the glamour and you are left with 2 guys of whom, one is coming up to a weight where he has never fought at before and a guy who has been in the welterweight division for over 4 years, who is coming down in weight plus coming off a long lay off so with all these factors being considered Marquez still can cause the upset but this fight to me boils down to if Marquez is able to nullify Floyds best choice weapons which is the straight right hand. If he can avoid being pot shotted for 12 rounds he might be able to get the decision especially if his work rate is higher than normal because Floyd only throws 1 punch at a time until he feels you are wearing down and then he starts to put the combinations in.

In a nutshell, this is more about defense than size difference, If Floyd is hitting Marquez early at will then it wont go past 8 rounds unless Floyd decides to toy with him just to prove a point to the public.

Floyd By Late Stoppage, I think he wants to make a statement and be the 1st man to stop Marquez.

 

We can only speculate . . . take note he is coming in from a long vacation.

 

Early on maybe, when he decks Marquez. But I see JMM forcing his way back into the fight and it's how Mayweather responds from there which will be interesting. My initial feeling is that he sits back and picks his way to a UD.

 

JMM best chance is if PBF comes at him. JMM has very impressive offensive skills for a counterpuncher. I put Pac & FLoyd at around the same level, difference is JMM had stylistic advantage over Pac, he is at styles disadvantage against Floyd. Chris John was a counterpuncher, Casamayor was very close on scorecards before the KO & freddie norwood also counterpunched. PBF is a lot better than all those 3.

 

Floyd will dance and shoulder roll the first 10 rounds until he remembers he is in with a lightweight.

Marquez will likely go out on his shield..which Judah has rarely done outside the Cotto fight where he had a bit of a go. He would rather run and try to foul out.

 

Zab stops throwing punches when the heat is on. Floyd will have to be alot more careful with JMM

See him put on a Oscar worthy performance when he got hit low from Cotto? Yeah it hurts but he has a protector on...I think old Zabby forgets when can see that.

Ever see him fly half way around the world to risk it all against a pretty decent unbeaten fighter? I dont recall that ever happening...he fights the Wayne Martells and Ruben Galvez's of the world instead.

Juan Manuel Marquez is natural featherweight about to take on the best fighter of this generation 20 pounds above his best weight.
He has been 24 rounds against the 2nd best fighter of this generation..showing massive amounts of heart to come back from 3 knockdowns and broken nose in their first fight.

Suggesting that Zab Judah is a ballsier fighter then JMM is about as ridiculous as you can get.
