I think Dirrell is gonna do suprisingly well in this tournament. I think I back him to take Froch, and I think he's got the goods to easily outpoint Abraham and outbox Taylor. I consider Ward more complete, and fast enough to deal with him, and Kessler is just too damn seasoned, too damn good. Dirrell will do very well, though.
Agreed. Everyone is writing him off because he is the least experienced fighter in the group. I got Dirrell winning the whole tournament and I think he's going to beat Froch senseless.
i agree dirrell is very beatable. he has poor footwork which affects the pop on his shots b/c he's not set properly. ive seen clip of him flurrying (spelling??) when his man is on the ropes and it looks pretty b/c he's quick and fast but theres not a lot on his shots b/c he's not set properly. what fight was that?? he must have thrown 20 shots but after about 5 you could tell it was a bunch of flash and nothing more. his d is also spotty. but...froch is so fundamentally flawed that if you have the resolve to stick the gameplan against him w/o getting dragged into a slugfest, you have a good shot to get a UD over him. i think dirrell has the athleticism to pop in, get off and pop out before froch can do anything. can dirrell do that for 12 rounds w/o froch imposing his will on him?? we'll see... i think the rest of the guys in the tourney are lucky that dirrell doesnt seem to be half the fighter he could be in the future. his upside is huge if he can put it together.
Dirrell looks very average to me .... his speed isnt as good as JT and power looks average ! .... for me Froch will KO Dirrell in the 10th.... he isnt upto this level ....
It's the ultimate pick 'em tournament. Dirrell has the speed, Ward the fundamentals, Kessler the punch, Froch the will, abraham the experience and Taylor the hunger to get back on top. Phenomenal.
Dirrell is faster than middleweight JT.. Froch jabs like Robin Hood...like he's shooting a bow and arrow. His right elbow shoots straight out..leaving those ribs exposed.:deal
That's just silly! Kessler's got the form and almost flawless technique (with the best resume beside Taylor), Froch has got the strength, Abraham has the groud-shaking power and Taylor has the ability to lose winnable fights.
aa has tremendous one punch power...but where this experience you speak of comes from is beyond me. who the hell has he fought?? he's fought miranda and that's it. whereas jt has the experience having been in the ring w/ bhop, winky, pavlik and froch. on top of that we don't know if jt has the hunger or not. if he does, and can fight a disciplined fight for 12 rounds (which has proven to be difficult for him) he boxes circles around aa. but i do share your excitement for this tourney. i can't wait :good
Well analyzed. Dirrell said he's working on his weaknesses in camp right now. When a fighter takes note that he needs to be well conditione and that he does have areas that he can improve, it makes me think he's got his head on straight. And if Dirrell can combine his athleticism with stamina and a good boxing intellect, watch out.
