the first time i heard that pacquiao was taking training lightly before a fight was when he faced erik morrales in the third fight. manny knew that morales was finished and he didn't need to train at a 100% as he was good enough to beat the aging warrior. then the rumours came out again for pacquiao's second fight with barrera, and you can't blame him because after the first fight he would beleive that he could beat barrera with one hand. in the second barrera fight pacquiao didn't look good at all and it was one of his less action filled fights. for the second marquez fight he seemed to be back to normal and training hard and he needed to because he got away with a close decision, probably not deserved. in his last three fights it is clear to see that manny has been training hard for the fights, david diaz never really had a chance of beating manny but he still trained hard and put on a great show. against oscar it was a big money fight that he didn't want to lose because winning would make him alot of money, for this fight he also trained hard and he won with ease. then the hatton fight came, and i never beleived this was a fight he was capable of winning although HBO did a great job in brain washing fans into thinking hatton had a chance. for this fight manny trained hard and won within two rounds.

now manny could argue that if he trained half as hard for the last three fights then he would still be victrious, i would agree with such a statement. as manny has had his opponents carefully hand picked the only fighters that were capable of beating him were a prime erik morales and juan manuel marquez. the rest were either past it or just not good enough.

pac probably beleives that cotto isn't the same fighter he was before margarito so there isn't the need to go through a big training camp when the result isn't in doubt. cotto did look better before margarito as he was more of a seek and destroy type of fighter which now has become a cautious boxer with big stamina problems. as manny is taking training lightly there is a risk that the miguel cotto that knocked out ricardo torres and zab judah may turn up. and if that is the case the manny is in trouble, but if the cotto that fought clottey turns up then a 70% fit manny pacquiao is good enough to do the job.

freddy roach and bob arum are to blame for pacquiao's lack of interest in training because they had the oppurtunity to make a third marquez fight or a fight against floyd mayweather but they chose to go after 2 washed up fighters in oscar and hatton.

i don't think pacquiao is taking cotto lightly and if he is he's a complete idiot and fool. he'd better come in with all his bag of tricks cause cotto is no joke and can hurt you at any given time.

It happens to many fighters, they start believeing they are invincible, especially after fights that make them look fantastic.

YOU GUYS NEED TO UNDERSTAND! there are ways to train yourself, pacman dont want to start training for the main reason that he dont want to be overtrained. Its best for him to train and hit the climax of his training then fight rather than train for a long time and draining himself. Thats according to him.

"Pacquiao made this comment when asked why he has not hit the gym while his opponent, Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto, has been training for weeks.
“When I train more than eight weeks, I get burned out," said Pacquiao during the formal launch of Head and Shoulders shampoo, which he is an endorser at the Renaissance Hotel in Makati."

IMO, we should just respect the way he trains and stop yelling out that he claims hes invicible. If he thinks training for 8 weeks will help him beat the crap out of cotto, let him be.

Clottey is not the type of fighter to gauge Cotto by.
I dont think there is one WW that would look good fighting Clottey. Hell idk how many WWs out there would actually beat him. Maybe Mosley and thats it.
That statment either tells me ur ******* or just dont know much about Clottey. I think its teh second one. Clottey is gonna be a top player in the future here. He just needs another chance.
    And Pac can be 100%
A good big man always beats a good little man. Pac is just simply too small as good as he is.

even the cotto that showed up against clottey still take pac. if pac gets caught on the ropes like clottey did, no way he can stand the shots clottey took from cotto! IMO

Pacquiao would be a fool to take Cotto lightly. Many people are reading too much in Cottos performance against Clottey. Clottey was NO BUM. I said it before the fight that it would be tough and it was. Clottey is hard for anybody at 147.

If Pacquiao takes this **** lightly I will lose a lot of respect for him. I hate that **** because then that just gives his nuthuggers room for excuses kinda like how people try to discredit Barreras win over Hamed by saying that Hamed didn't train.

Its simple, its a matter of who gets hit hard first. Its boxing.....nobody thought that hatton will be KO'd in less than 6 minutes. Cotto might get hit in the first few seconds on the first round and get KOd and so with PACMAN.....no one know until the fight is on.

First off all, Pacquiao will not take Cotto likely, it just doesn't make sense. Second, if he does he would lose easily.
