Hi folks... Just after a bit of advice really, I'm trying to further my understanding of coaching by studying academically as well as visiting gyms to see how sucesful coaches train their fighters. So far I have passed the BBBC training course for a professional trainer and passed my REPS level 2 Fitness Instructor Course where i passed with 279 out of 280 on my planning, teaching and evaluating and 85% on my theory. I'm about to begin my level three Personal Trainer Qualification which will allow me to be a YMCA accredited personal trainer but what else can I study? Thanks in advance. Jeffro
well done Jeff so far IMO the best training is done in the gym for you hang around the sparring and all that with other trainers etc... my grandad did courses in motivation they might do you good
dont know if it would be feasible for you jeff but it would be a great learning curve to travel to learn. help out at gleasons in new york, wild card, romanza mexico city, couple in puerto rico etc etc id say that you would pick up mad knowledge doing that
wisdom... you cant teach wisdom... you need to have your own outlook on things if you wanna be a trainer, tell the fighter what you truly believe, not what some qualification tells you to do..... hear teddy atlas, he speaks some shitttt, but it all makes sense in the end..... you think hes chatting **** until he makes a point.. like fight night round 4, talking about gardening and ****... and his kids running to the dinner table.... its all unique.. wot gets a fighter motivated... u need to study people bruv, to understand how a fighter thinks (aswell as the boxing knowledge)

nah been out and about.. like gettin knocked out when i was pissed, starting on some boy lol.. woke up in hospital... ive been boxing aswell!!! bought some boxing gloves, its ****ing harder than it looks man, i used to be genuinely good at boxing compared to my m8s, but now i fight like a spastic.. all flat footed, and just try and land bombs.. i aint got no movement or nothing.. :blood need to get back to my old ways
Sounds like your doing all of the right things Jeff. I highly recommend attending the Crossfit trainer level 1/2 seminars - these are held at Crossfit Manchester every now and again. In addition to this, try to get some Oly lifting experience under your belt - go to http://www.bwla.co.uk/ and view the level 1/2 weight training courses (very worthwhile). Crossfit and BWLA, in addition to your current experience should see strength and conditioning covered. You also seem well versed in the fundamentals of boxing, so keep doing what you are doing on that front. I would also highly recommend Yoga.
