The poll is flawed. Tyson continued boxing until his defeat at the hands of McBride.

After douglas kicked his ass people wern't afraid of him anymore, his aura was gone!!!:good

I agree with the first sentence
2nd sentence i dont agree with...people werent afraid of him anymore....ask Bruno And Seldon. Seldon went down faster than a *****....
Doesnt Matter Whether They Were Afraid Or Not.... He still kicked their Asses
After Prison His 2 Losses Coming To 2 Future ATGs
And 2 Bums At The End Of His Career
Not Bad For A Guy.....Who "Scares" people, has just come out of prison with his skills mostly eroded....
Gosh can u just imagine what he would have doen to these with all skills intact? (sarcastic)

PS9Teacher...i dont believe tyson was ever knocked out by a jab...or had his career ended by one?

Jennifer Love Hewitt You Dont Seem To Understand Do You? The Poll Is Not Flawed because its MY poll and MY question WAS...which of the two resulted in effectively ending the career of one Michael Gerarrd Tyson.....?

So, if I made a poll that asked who was the heavyweight champion of the world and the choices were: a Dragon, Nipsey Russel, or Britney, one of those choices would be the correct answer?

Of course not. The choices provided do not adequately (or factually) answer the question. It's a flawed premise.

And, I maintain that neither Buster Douglas nor going to prison ended Tyson's career. He became freaking heavyweight champion of the world AFTER those two events occurred. He continued to box professionally and made millions of dollars doing so, AFTER those events occurred. I'd say his career as a professional fighter was fine and going strong. Therefore, It must have been some other subsequent event which caused it to collapse.

It's a poor pair of choices to tell the truth so I'm not voting. Tyson was ruined or well along the road to such before Douglas and a long time before prison. Tyson was his own worst enemy, what ruined him was the fact that he's a manipulative little spoiled brat in a massively powerful man's body.
Who's to say King wouldn't have got to him even had D'Amato lived a few more years? He was all too willing to listen to all that "brother" and 'the white man this, the white man that' bollocks when D'Amato and Jacobs were barely cold. You only have to listen to him talk about Jacobs and Cayton on that recent documentary to know that loyalty and gratitude are alien concepts to him. Tyson's just ****ed in the head full stop. That's what happens when you come from scum.

He was doing fine with Cayton as his manager, and even though he was annoyed by Rooney getting in his personal relationships that could of been sorted out. It was until King persuaded Tyson to fire Rooney and Cayton.

tyson at his zenith that is at his best was a markedly incomplete boxer.
his power advantages were rivalled by his main dissadvantage of reach. at the elite level the reach defficit, without a propper style to compensate, was naturally exposed.
propper style . mike thew body shots hard but wide.
i would also say that for a guy, tyson, who spent as much time watching marciano as he did, he never diplayed near the developed defensive tactics. marcianos style is the book especially for a shorter fighter.
tyson was taught peekaboo d. ala patterson. short as tyson was he needed to be close to his opponent, and likwise low. when mike was in good position, he was canceling out his own defensive style. his elbows tucked to deffend his body, when ala marciano elbows should have been employed along with his shoulders to deffend against headshots. when mike steps in low, a taller fighter is not going to drop his own level to hit mike in the body. mike elbows a wasted resource.
