    Turnng down 750k to fight a genuine unification with Hlats..............the South African guy.

    I'm no fan of Berto and believe he'd get stomped by my favourite welter, Clottey; but here he has a very good chance of unifying the division and therefore setting up much bigger fights in the future with massive paydays.

    Am I missing something here or is Berto being totally idiot? Especially with Clottey and Mosley pencilled in.

    Hlats is a blown up lightweight that got a gift against Nate "Galaxy quitter" Campbell a few years back.

    I think its a smart business move, as long as he keeps that 0 and never risks losing it he can continue to **** HBO of their money.

    You just contradicted yourself. He (Berto) is refusing the fight. An easy unification with no better fights available to him. He will keep his 0 and gain a belt.

    Thought that was pretty clear.

    I went on to further justify what a stupid move it was because now Clottey (who wanted to fight Berto) and Mosely (who Berto wanted to fight) are booked up.

    I didnt even know Hlats had a belt at 147 and 750k to fight him is hard to believe considering practically no one knows who he is and Berto got less against Collazo.

    Then yeah, that is dumbass move by team Berto, thats an easy payday right there, unified titles could bring the megafights like Floyd and Pac to him.
