First, let's remember they fought twice. The first time, Barrera was prime. He had a streak of wins, and was fighting very well. He had wins against Hamed, Morales, Tapia, Kelly, etc. So that time around, Pacquiao did fight a prime Barrera. The second time around, Barrera was definitely going down. He had just been destroyed by Marquez, and had been worn down from previous wars (Morales trilogy, Marquez, Pacquiao).

Seriously, for a guy whose in the prime of his life, he is sure going for the weakest link in every division.

    What a shame.

LAS VEGAS — People know about Manny Pacquiao now.
They know he’s considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. That he’s trying to defy the odds and beat Oscar De La Hoya here on Saturday in the “Dream Match.”
They even know how to pronounce his name.
    PACK-ee-ow.
But five years ago, the man they call Pac-Man was a virtual unknown — until he came to San Antonio as a decided underdog against the great Mexican fighter, Marco Antonio Barrera.
The bout took place Nov. 15, 2003 at the Alamodome, and it launched the Filipino sensation’s career.
“I remember the odds were 4-1,” Pacquiao said with a smile Wednesday. “Nobody expected me to win that fight.”
Nobody who was there that night — or watched the fight on HBO — will ever forget it.
Pacquiao stunned the boxing world and the 10,127 fans in attendance with a convincing 11th-round technical 8knockout.
He dominated the fighter everyone considered the best featherweight in the sport with power, fast hands and a relentless style that would become his trademark.

Like I said, RJJ was considered the best LHW in the world when he lost to Tarver, but it didn't mean he was in his prime, even though he was P4P.

    Do you NOT get that?!!

Dude, it was a nice win for Pac, sure it was, but you guys put him in the top 20 for that win, a contreversial W against JMM, a couple wins vs a shot Morales, and a win over Hatton.

That is pretty pathetic don't you think.

Answer me this, based on those wins, does Pac deserve to be in the top 20, hell, even top 30? And if so do you rate Oscar higher than Pac, if so why?

The minute he beat Barrera, or even before that.
