    Poor Lewis.

If his trainer did not get drunk he would have been 100-0. No doubt.

As it stands, he is only a top 5 ATG in my book.

He could have been number 1 had things went for him.

Lewis does pretty well by ESB these days I'd say, actually.

You still get some that give him little credit but you always get groups like that for every fighter, even the all-time greats. Compared to what it was like when I was watching Lewis throughout the 90s and into this decade, it's much...MUCH...better than it was.

Plus y'know, General particularly is for the controversy and debate, right? ;)

Yeah, but these people are always talking about a non-prime Lewis when they hate on him.

    Nobody beats Prime Lewis.

By the way, if anyone disagrees with me I will just start typing random words in block capitals.

    So, don't tangle with me.

    See above.

I don't want to do it, but I will.

    Yeah. Arnie was drunk.

It left a devastating effect on Lewis.

I can directly link it to his two losses, for example.

No way he would have got caught like that by Rahman or McCall had the neural imprinting in his brain not been affected by Arnie.

I was never a big fan of Lewis', but towards the end of his career I did appreciate him as a fighter more than I had previously, & in his retirement, I have come to appreciate his skills more-so than I ever had!

I was heartbroken when he beat Tyson, who was/is my favourite fighter of all time & the reason I first became interested in Boxing! In my heart I was desperate for Mike to win, but my brain knew otherwise. By the time of the fight, Tyson was shot as a fighter & only his durability kept him in the fight for eight rounds! Lewis may be a year older than Tyson, but as fighters, Tyson aged much more than Lewis!

Anyway, Lewis was a big HW, very strong & when the highly important ocassions came around, was focused. I do think him being KO'd twice by one-punch knockouts does tarnish his legacy, even if it is so slightly. He was not the most durable HW & that's being kind to him.

He beat every guy put in front of him & not many can say that! He's certainly merits a place among the top-10 HW's off all time & H2H, I think Lewis is right up there. Maybe if Lewis had been more threatening for the bulk of his career i.e. his wins over Golota & Rahman 2, then he would have generated more fans!

As great as he was, I still maintain that at his best he would not have beaten a peak Tyson! We will leave that debate because it has been debated numerous times!

Preposterous. This is ESB and our heroes do not simply lose! For no reason! In their Prime!

No, Lewis was Pre-Prime for McCall and and Past-Prime for Rahman.
