JMM looks physically 110%, but an eye-catching upper body full of muscles are misleading in boxing. Boxing is not about the muscles, it's about speed, technique and precision, and cracking power usually comes from there, and this is particularly true for Mexican fighters, just look at Morales' or young DLH's body. How often do we see thin guys beat up dudes limited by their own extra work with the weights? This content is protected This content is protected
I dont think the analogy works based on the two fighters above. Neither were very skilled fighters - Marquez is skilled and more importantly, HUNGRY
Not the same skill level, obviously, but the point is: extra muscle weight usually have a negative effect on boxers. Especially on a fighter whose natural weight was 4 divisions lower where he looked skinny and performed the best, and where he fought comfortably at the age of 33. JMM looked uncomfortable and slower at 135, and now he's jumping up another two divisions. This content is protected This content is protected
You'll all be disappointed. Floyd is just too big and faster than Marquez. I'm not a Floyd fanboy but I believe he will easily beat him.
He put on a lot of muscle mass He looks strong but i hope he is working on his speed because while he may be stronger it means **** all if he is slow in the ring against a guy like Mayweather.
JMM looks heavy at the upper body. I hope his legs will last 12 rounds to support it. This added weight would slow him down. Floyd is bigger and a natural light welterweight. He will easily stop JMM in the late rounds.
I see what your saying, i dont think people are trying to say boxing is all about muscles their simply trying to assess how well Marquez has packed on the weight, difference is that those fighter are limited anyways even with or without their physiques, Marquez isnt by no means limited, technique, ringsmarts and precision are one of his best assets.
JMM looks to ready & good shape. He looks to have put on some muscle, but you can tell by his mid-section that he could easily loose weight if required. You can tell 144lbs is definitely not his best fighting weight & after this fightI would not be surprised to see him move back down to 135lbs! Mayweather is not taking him lightly, Floyd is in great shape & despite what Marquez brings to the table, I think Floyd will win by TKO.
