2 guys enter the cage 1 wins :huh Im pretty sure thats a 50 percent chance. Now I could see if it was Jimmie vs Lyoto Machida sure say no chance but dont count out the former number 1 205er in the world who KTFO of plenty of top guys.

How many years ago was that?

And since than he lost to Griffin, went tooth and nail with a 75 year old Coleman and KO'd a shot Liddell.

Rua is a good fighter but stylistically Machida is just terrible for him. Rua's striking is wildly overrated and Machida is arguably the sports best striker along with Silva.

Rua is obviously a capable ground fighter but Machida is very good at defending the clinch and hes rarely if ever on his back. In the UFC, I think hes only been on his back in one fight and thats against Soko who has very good takedowns with Judo.

Shogun wont last past 2 rounds.

No chance? yeah right, Tito Ortiz nearly subbed him with a triangle, but Shogun has no chance^^^

Its a 5 rounds fight my friend, I dont know how the cardio of Shogun will react, but how<s machida^ he was gassed vs Tito in the 3rd round.
    Shogun is a live opponent.

Also , all opponent of Machida were predictable and we knew what they would do, but we dont for Shogun. The guy is unpredictable, like he was vs Liddell.
I cant wait for that fight damn..

its a coin toss for me. Great fight.

I like Shogun and all, but it seems like his style is perfect for Machida. At his best, he was a sort of tazmanian wrecking ball, all sorts of wild kicks and activity. Machida is a countering machine.. I don't like Shoguns chances.

One thing to consider is that Shogun has had more time to prepare for Machida than any of his past opponents have. I'm not talking training time so much as exposure. When Machida first arrived in the Octagon, his weird style hadn't been analyzed and explored. Now everybody on Sherdog is babbling about it (admittedly with drastically varying degrees of competence).

The longer a fighter who thrives on unorthodox tactics remains in the spotlight, the greater the chance his opponents have of figuring out the gameplan to beat him.

Machida KO 4. I foresee a pitched battle. Lyoto's sharpness will win out in the end. I can't wait.

Rua is an average striker who will give Machida NO PROBLEMS on the feet.

Yes, Tito almost submitted Machida, but almost doesnt cut it. And the fact remains Tito got whooped that whole fight.

The UFC is doing its job though, the fact people actually think this will be competitive is incredible. This guy went tooth and nail with Mark Coleman less than a year ago.

Rua gets steamrolled. The guy has nothing Machida hasnt seen before.

Interested to see how Lyoto deals with all guns blazing aggression from Shogun. Not sure who wins, depends which Shogun shows up.

Shogun will not win. He shouldn't even be in this fight.
