I agree with you. From my experience of training and sparring, I can appreciate what boxers like Floyd Mayweather Jr, Bernard Hopkins and other so- called boring fighters do in the ring. Except for the cheaters of course, I respect all fighters who get in the ring.
I have ALWAYS been a HOOPER First. Central State University(Ohio) 89-92 PG And Back-up QB Football '91, '92. But now at 38 years old about year and a half ago...I started going to the Eastside Vegas Boxing Gym in Las Vegas. But on the West Coast, I can't find sparring partners...I'm 6'2 220...Out Here, its all Mexican...105-140lbs fighters. But yeah...I still can handle myself!!!
Was bullied until a retired boxer that was my neighbor showed me how to box. I had a few amateur bouts nothing to rave about. however, I did fight in a unofficial tough-man style competition in which I ko'd the best fighter when I was 22. In that fight I got rocked but I was able to win.
I never box in my life because too many punches to the head make you stupid so I decided not to follow boxing as a hobbie.
I had a few amateur fights at 200 lbs then hurt my knee and never really recovered and have been training fighters for bout 10 years now....I go to the gym bout 4-5 times a week work FT and go to college FT so it is tough now though...****
