"The Thai" has fought some good fighters, but not as many as you might expect from a 38-1 fighter. In 2008 he fought two people with 2-3-1 records, and someone else with a 5-10-2 record. He certainly is a good fighter with a good pedigree, but many of his 38 wins have been against opponents with very dodgy records. That said he has beaten Cordoba and Sithchatchawal, and therefore mustn't be taken at all lightly. I'm disappointed in Peters because I don't think you should be talking about Vasquez three weeks before a fight like this. If Dunne does win this chances are he will be all cut up like in the Cordoba fight, so first things first Mr.Peters! Dunne himself admitted that he overlooked Martinez, so overlooking a fighter in your first defense isn't a good idea. Dunne certainly can win this fight if he fights cautiously and trains as hard as he did for the Cordoba fight. If you pressed me I might say "Dunne UD" but I won't have any money on this fight, its tough to call.

In his third fight he knockedout out Leo Ramirez (57-34-9) and in his fourth fight he faced Lee Escobido (29-36-3) for the PABA title.

As for fighting some shiit opponants later in his career well he has been the WBA interim champion for what must seem like 50 years to him and threading water - why would take a random fight against another top level fighter that was only going to detract from the position he was sitting in.

Also Thai fighters fight regularly to earn their keep the two fights 2-3-1 fighters were within 3 months of battering Somsak - not many European fighters would have fought again for at least six months after a fight like that.

Yeah this is pretty much a done deal from what I've heard. Tough fight for Jamie, hope he pulls it off.

He WAS the WBA interim Bantamweight champ but he gave that up in 2006 when he lost to the champ

he only won his interim champ in april so its hardly years :deal

Hes a decent fighter his record is terribly padded though due to him keeping active

RTE live stream will be available i assume. I heard it was very heavily subscribed last time and was unusually choppy - no one in Thailandia has bought the right (yet) so I assume that there will be a minion of Poonsamanics grabbing a piece of the pie and making the stream even worserer.

The good news is that the full Cordoba fight was up on youtube within 12 hours and RTE never made any request to have it taken down - hopefully the same will be true - although I cant see many Paddies in a rush to upload it if Dunne loses

    Hope that helps

Somebody said it there, the early rounds is where i'll be worried about Dunne. If he can get through 2/3 without getting blown out i think he'll get into his groove and start picking the thai off from distance.

One thing i hate about Dunne though is he has a habit of dropping his hands and showboating dangerously, esp after he takes a punch. Sometimes I almost think it'd be better for him to fighting outside Ireland where he wouldn't be trying to put on a show for the crowd.

Got my tickets too, cant wait for Satuday!!

I thought he did ko Somsak with a left hook to the solar plexus.:huh

Anyway, I think Poonsawat is a level above Dunne, too relentless and powerful.
He dose hae a tendency to leap in though and Dunne could counter him with something nasty.
