but with the end of year schedule being what it is, it just might happen. 2009 shaped up to be a great yaer.

I prefer Berto-Collazo, truly underrated gem, more two-sided rounds. Maidana-Ortiz is a strong candidate too and Pascal-Diaconu was just as great.

The fight of the year is Diaz vs Marquez ... all out brawl ... Marquez was forced to dig deep ...

Marquez - Diaz gets my vote... High level of skill, furious, non-stop action and a beautiful looking KO to seal the deal...

viloria-solis deserves a shout. nice paced fight with rounds swinging back and forth. you won't know who will win until the championship rounds.

Marquez-Diaz right now. Pascal vs Diaocanu may have the round of the year, but I don't think there was enough back-and-forth action. But I'll hold for Pac-Cotto and Pavlik-Williams if that happens...

    JMM vs. Diaz was good.

I also liked Froch vs. Taylor, Froch vs. Pascal and Pascal vs. Diaconu,

Has to be Pascal vs. Diaconu for me. The fact that Jean was winning and decided to go for the KO after a minute into the 12th is so gutsy, great fight though Pascal should stay out of wars like that and the one with Froch if he can.

Diaz vs. Marquez was great but I honestly feel like it was a bit one sided for Marquez, he adjusted to take control fairly early after the Diaz onslaught the first couple of rounds, still great though.

If a brutal, evenly contested, back and forth, blood and guts fight with multiple knockdowns is FOTY material, then surely it has to be Dunne/Cordoba.

However, Diaz/Marquez was of a higher profile and popular among purists, so that will probably get it.

well the importance of a fight also matters.

high profile fights have an edge and rightly so.

    1. Froch-Taylor, If Froch goes on and has a promising carear, this fight will be looked at as a classic....

    2. Marquez-Diaz, Exciting fight, great action and brutal finish...

    3. Maidana-Ortiz, a KD fest, with pretty good action

Honorable Mention: Malignaggi-Diaz, I appreciate the "art" aspect of this fight, pure pressure fighter vs pure boxer...
