I think people on this board who are hailing paul as some sort of master boxer, going to take Pavlik to school etc need to rewatch this fight.
I know... They keep going on about the Hopkins loss as if Williams is a master boxer. If he wins it will be in a completely different way... :nut.
No, it's true. I read the threads. Anybody that just moves sideways beats Pavlik EASY!!! Calderon KO 1 Pavlik.:!:
WILLIAMS is gonna get schooled again eventually.. It's just a matter of time... Even though Quintan is good, he's not top level (as much as I like him), having said that, u know somebody will show up who will be able to take PW punches and know how to outbox him at the same time... I've said it before and I'LL say it again, it's just a q? of time!!!
Williams had a bad night, though the fight does show that he is there to be hit. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pavlik will maul him.
:think Prolly was his choice of hair cut that night. Mohawks are really good aerodynamically for goin' straight forward and back, while side to side, not so good.:yep
i love the extremes of this fight either paul williams had an off night or paul williams got the **** beat out of him and then you look at the poster who is making the comments and it usually tells the story
i didnt even read anyones comment but the first one.. you have the people who like paul williams or/and the more level headed posters who will say paul had a bad night at the office (exactly like he said he did) does not discredit quintana for him doing his thing but paul was not in rhythm from the get go and he had a bad day then you have the people who hate paul williams because their favorite fighter usually has some connection with paul williams and they are in fear of paul williams and they just trophy the fight as if its some master blueprint to paul williams and quintana would own paul 10 times out of 10... its whatever its all hind sight at this point.... when someone repeats the quintana performance you can send me a message..... until then it is what it is....
In my opinion, where a Pavlik/Williams fight is concerned, the Quintana and Hopkins fights are both null and void! Pavlik is not going to do what Quintana did, and could not do it if he wanted to. Kelly is not a short, slick southpaw. Williams cannot do what Hopkins did because he is not big enough or strong enough. Pavlik/Williams will not be a chess match type of fight. It will be more like a Pit Bull fighting a Doberman. That Doberman is lean and mean, moves well, it's quick and agile, et, but at some point the Pit bull catches it, and rips its throat out.
Williams is open to right hands and that is Kellys best punch, Maybe im being to critical of Williams i mean he did smoke Quintana in the rematch.
Imo Williams really did have an off night. He look out of shape in which he was dry and look like a fighter that was having trouble making the weight.
Sometimes, if you're not REALLY careful about who you fight, you may actually lose. Out of everybody around today, a lot that talk more than they fight, Paul Williams is the least careful , by far. Plus, knocking out the guy who beat you in the first round kind of makes up for it a bit, i'd say. Pauls taking a pretty ballsy chance with Pavlik, hats off to him.
