Hatton claims he lost his cool after the point deduction in the 6th but Mayweather really started kicking Hatton's ass in the 8th when he turned up the pace and starting teeing off on Hatton. I think those short right uppercuts to the body that he landed throughout the fight on Hatton, when his left arm was locked up with Hatton's arm, took a toll on Hatton. Hatton was leaping in with left hooks all night (which also later hurt him against Lazcano and Pacquiao), it wasn't as if he got desperate and suddenly starting leaping in with hooks and leaving himself exposed. Manny Steward pointed this out early in the fight.

Hatton was rabbit-punching in the first round.

Cortez warned him then. How many warnings are fair before you get deducted?

Mayweather's forearm to the throat won this fight.

I thought the turnbuckle did it.

    I was calling for a Hatton-Turnbuckle rematch.

Ricky contributed to his own downfall, he didnt use his jab like Oscar told him too, he didnt have a plan B and got emotionally involved

When the point of ocured he hit the panic button, he shipped too many shots which was always a worry from a fan fan perspective. He needed to be a little bit more clever like Castillo was when he pushed Mayweather all the way.

Cortez didnt help lets be honest, he was on Hattons case all night and didnt let him work on the inside which was Hattons only chance of victory, as he wouldn't be able to out speed/box mayweather

Cortez didnt let Ricky have a fair crack of the whip, and it spoiled the fight for me.

But no doubt who the better man was, Mayweather was excellent that night

Exactly, Cortez negated Hatton's style of fighting. We can say that PBF didn't beat Hatton because he couldn't fight like the HITMAN himself.

Cortez took out The Hitman, While PBF KOed Richard.

Hatton was not fighting on the inside but he was grappling and mauling mayweather. A ref is suppose to break fighters when this happens. Hatton should have let his hands go while on the inside. But it should be pointed out that Myweather did an great job of holding Hattons arms on the inside also forcing Cortez to break the action. Hatton simply was never in the fight as some might suggest because his agression was not effective at all. I dont think Hatton landed anything serious the whole fight

He landed some good shots early but they had no effect and Floyd tagged him right back each time. Thats one thing Floyd gets no credit for. He has instincts of a fighter. If you crack him hard you can lure him into a fight.

Hatton was getting his ass beat fighting Floyd on the inside...

He was outclassed and outfought by a much better fighter.

**** off with these endless excuses.
