Indeed, but what if the IBF strip Wlad? Povetkin would be in a position to fight for the vacant belt.

He is arranging fights because Wladimir has refused to arrange one with him. What do you want Povetkin to do, sit around and do nothing?

Firstly I didn't hear that he refused, it was Wlad that chose Chagaev over other potential foes, something I commend him for. Secondly, Povetkin would have only had three weeks to train. The honorable thing for Wlad to do in this position is to fight Povetkin early next year.

I seem to remember Wlad being ready to face him last year.

Wladimir wants to fight Povetkin in December 2008, than Povetkin pulls out with an injury.

After Haye pulls out for the 20the of june, Team Klitschkos asked Povetkin to stepp in. He refuses to fight because on too short notice.

Yeah we know about the 2008 fight, but you really want Povetkin to take a fight on three weeks notice? Both Vitali and Lewis were already in training for a fight when they agreed to fight, Chagaev had already had a full training camp.

The man got injured, he recovered, make the fight again and allow him a full training camp.

No problem. But now the Champ is injured so Povetkin had to wait. He is the challenger and the Champ needs time to recover.

Don´t be anxious, Wladimir will fight Povetkin that´s for sure!

I'm not exactly a fan of Wlad but I do respect him and we all know that, if he's fit, he'll fight three times a year and will fight anyone. It's a shame the Povetkin bout hasn't happened yet but let's look on the positive side. After all the wait, we might be in for a great fight!

I don't like that Wlad is looking to fight Chambers, a fighter I actually like, in March instead of Povetkin. Let Chambers wait a little longer, as it is he lost to Povetkin, and then fight him later in the year.

This would make sense for Povetkin. He can beat Ruiz, and the winner of Haye vs. Valuev.

Arroela is the contender to watch right now. I don't care about these handpicked fights for titles. I want to see a champion loose his belt in the ring. Chris is coming to fight his management has done their job it his his turn now. Povetkin has to get off the pot and fight. If Klitchko is is playing games screw him. Go knock out RUIZ and fight the winner of Vlauev vs Haye which will be Valuev. Ruiz may be a boaring cheat but he is not a runner. He will step up to the plate if Povetkin calls him out.

I have never really bought into Wald being the best out there. His refusal to honor his commitment to Briggs was IMO running at its best. I am not surprised they are playing games with Povetkin. So Povetkin moves on and Wlad fights Chambers who will not bother the frail champion in the rough house manner Pavetkin may. Nothing new here.

You cannot run from someone who had not earend a shot, whether if his name is Briggs or Haye. Your guys need to earn it in the ring the same way Wlad himself did by fighting Peter.

You mean like Austin and Brock. I like your ideal but we don't count. Klitchko does not that is why he fights who he fights. As for Briggs don't agree to fight him then go looking for softer targets. Peter? Who did he beat when Wlad fought him. No one. Just because HBO likes Peter that don't make him good. Klithcko was looking for the exit against TOS, managed to find it and a shaky win. No rematch. Klitchko's road to his matchup against the ever dangerous Chris Byrd is one his fans like to forget. I am not impressed with Wlad the champion and his too soft opponents.

Povetkin hasn't shown me anything that he could beat Wlad. If Chamebrs was landing clean shots on Povetkin, just imagine what Wlad what do. As a matter fact I would favor Chambers to beat Povetkin in a rematch. We don't know who's going to fight mainly because Wladimir isn't fighting till next year. Povetkin and Chambers might fight again this year, who knows.
