Should Larry Merchant keep working as a commentator?

    Not trying to "respond" to the other existing thread about Larry Merchant, but I'd like to know what ESBers truly believe about him. Personally, I'm always interested in what he has to say and I don't find the way he speaks annoying. In a way, it's his trademark.

    So what does ESB think?

    Yea I like Larry. A lot of people on ESB give him **** but I think he's better then some other commentators on HBO

    I'm not a love him/hate him guy... I think he has some great 1-liners & does a good job speaking his mind/not pandering to his network... BUT, his bias to artless slugfests is annoying and his borderline disdain for the fighters that have allowed him an easy & lucrative career goes beyond "refreshingly blunt" into simply classless.

    I can take him or leave him.

    Hell yeah...can you imagine when he starts getting dementia added to the fact he seems almost always sauced up?

    That would be quality entertainment there.

    No I really hope Merchant continues..at least untill Mayweather-Pacquaio fight happens,Cuz I def want to see his reaction and hear what he has to say when his fav fighter PAC loses to his least Fav fighter who he loves to critisize Floyd AKA Money Mayweather

    I'll take him any day over Max or Teddy Atlas. The only people I would choose over him will be Lennox Lewis or Emmanuel Steward.
