Something that most people here might not realize is that most fans and a lot of huge UFC fans just don't know who Fedor is. My buddy is a HUGE UFC fan. When I saw bodog running a line on a fedor vs lesnar fight, I emailed him about it. He was vaguely aware of Fedor and his thoughts where that Lesnar would kill him. So if real UFC fans are only vaguely aware of Fedor, without a lot of money spent on advertising, this wouldn't be that big of a fight.

    This thread is ****ing ******ed.

Wow, so one of the biggest fights that can be made in boxing will pull bigger numbers than 1 of 20 cards UFC does in a year? ****ing mindblowing!

How does this **** keep ending up in the mma forum? If it originated in the general, it belongs in the general. It's not like it's Strikeforce vs UFC productions, Boxing makes up half the thread topic.

Then you don't really like the UFC. If you did, you'd want to see it do as well as possible, even if boxing does better from time to time.

I thing hardcore boxing fans that hate MMA are seeing the success mma is having and go on a witch hunt in the general forum looking for support from each other.

Wow. One boxer who's worth the effort of worrying about. That clearly shows that boxing dominates the UFC.

Yep, ODL was the big ppv draw for boxing Pac has certainly raised his stock from his last 2 fights and might get some bigger numbers.

cotto and even PBF arn't huge draws and not to mention boxing events are mostly just 1 fight draws as opposed to UFC who try to put on a good card as a whole.

You do realize that you just made my argument for me right? You claim the UFC is battling Pac, but now you're agreeing with me that White wouldn't counterprogram Pac directly. Well, uhm... which is it? Thanks for making my argument for me though.. I thought you were supposed to argue my point, not agree with it. :nut

A UFC event for free on Spike, held in the UK, with a start time probably at least 5 hours before the start time for the Pac/Cotto card... that is not a "battle". And even if you consider airing the UFC event on tape delay as a "battle" ... well if the "battle" is purely based on how many people will be watching, then I actually think there will be more people watching the free UFC card than people paying $50 for the Pac fight. Either way, the UFC is far from in trouble like you are trying to argue.

If the UFC card was on PPV or if it was actually live being aired side to side with Pac vs Cotto, then you would have an argument. But since it's not, you don't.

    :hi:

Huh? :huh There's no more competition between boxing and MMA on which sport discipline gets the bigger audience??:huh

Any boxing card and MMA card held on the same day will be considered a battle of boxing vs. MMA... Even fight cards held on different dates were compared just to discuss on who has the greater fans following...

On November 14, it seems MMA conceded that they can't compete with the PAC-Cotto PPV card... :hi:

Unlike this coming September 19 where the expected boring Floyd-JMM tuneup, mismatch fight will have tight competition from UFC 103...

Most MMA fans would take Machida-Rua over the Pac fight...But Boxing/MMA fans even I am going to take this Pac vs Cotto fight over almost anything that the UFC put out that day.

I have decided to go fishing on both days. More people fish on any given day than watch the biggest UFC event and boxing events combined.

How come every card in Europe is so bad?

Is it because the great fighters dont want to fight in Europe and get 250,000 buys and make absolute crap money as a result? Thats what Penn said.
