I feel that most of the ppl on this forum are against this fight happening.
When the barnett fight was cancelled, there was talk of fedor possibly fighting vitor belfort or bret rogers.

As much as i would have wanted to see vitor square up against the man they call "the last emperor" i would still have picked bret rogers as fedors opponent and i aint sayin im an expert but i know my mma. this guy destroyed arlovski in 20 seconds, and has battered all 10 opponents into submission

We know plenty about vitor, he can hold his own against fedor in every situation, apart from being overpowered.

The roger fight is very dangerous imo. bret is really an unknown quantity. we dont know how good he can be. its rare for fedor to force the takedown before exchanging, thats why i think this roger has a chance.

Fedor is by far the better fight, he has more skill etc, but this is a fight, anything can happen and rogers has some SERIOUS punching power

All im saying is, this is was a good fight out there for fedor to take, im glad he took it. expect anything.

I always get very nervous when Fedor's about to fight, for one punch can be all it takes. I'd be devastated to see him lose

What is intriguing about this? Rogers is undefeated with power. It's sounds pretty but he has a punchers chance, if that. Arlovski, CroCop etc all have good power and their punchers chance failed. Rogers has nothing for Fedor.

I want to see Fedor against the best at something i.e. Wrestlers - Brock and Couture, Submissions - Mir etc etc etc I say this because I don't think there are any real complete heavyweights, not in the mould of GSP, Silva or Penn. Not that I can think of really.

I just don't see it. I guess you could say that about anyone who hits hard, but I just don't see it in this fight. If Fedor loses to Rogers, then I have to seriously re-evaluate Fedor.

HOW? Seriously are you kidding me? So bearing in mind Fedor's glorious career in a sport whereby your run can be halted by a variety of diffrent means you'd then think its practical to reevaluate his career?!?!? Are you serious?

Where did I say I would re-evaluate his career? Clearly he has accomplished a great deal to this point. That can't be taken away from him. However, if he does lose to Rogers... I will definitely re-evaluate exactly how great I think that Fedor the fighter actually is. That doesn't take away from what he has done in his career... it would be putting how great he is as a fighter today into perspective. If Fedor is as great as I think he is, no way Rogers beats him. Not standing, and definitely not on the ground. If you are going to be considered the greatest of all time, you have to be held to certain standards.... which include things like not losing to Brett Rogers.

This is a very difficult sport to go undefeated, esp as long as Fedor has gone. Brett Rogers has that kind of power that can just end a fight early. If MMA has 10 seconds knockdown count, I say Fedor would beat Rogers every time, but because it doesn't, a fighter like Rogers can still upset any one, even if it's the GOAT.

It could be a fluke like GSP vs Serra I.

You couldnt see Anderson Silva taking a KO shot from ANYONE. Fedor's not got that almost invincibilie aura about him, he's vurnerable

What? put him in a fight with Melvin Manhoef, and say that he is not vulnerable again.

Putting Demian Maia or Palhares vs Silva, and you got the same chance of an upset but on the ground this time, not standing.

Thats puting Anderson in with one of the best strikers in MMA

Rogers or Arlovski are no where near on Manhoef's level, yet the vurnerability is there

Fedor isn't stupid though. He'll know how to avoid and counteract Rogers' best weapons. I give Rogers a 5-10% chance of beating Fedor, tops.

It seems like Fedor likes to be fighters at their own games. This could cause a problem but probably won't

Arlovski was number 2 before and after the Fedor fight for a reason. Arlovski is a good fighter but of course he has a bad chin but who in recent years has KOed Arlovski ? Sylvia (know as a puncher), Fedor (not a KO artist but has a history of hurting people) and now Rogers who has finished every single one his opponets. Cleary the guy can crack there is no getting around it.
