http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-bWaQZjTfI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POOcO-Z5dQg Barnes was not pleased, but who can blame him really.
Olympic semi finals, he was well beaten but didn't get points for a lot of scoring punhes. When he was interviewed afterwards he was asked how it feels to have won the bronze medal, he said that they could keep their medal and that bronze was for losers
The boy doesn't like to lose that's for sure. I can see him turning pro where he can put all that aggression to good use :good
That Mongolian boxer that beat Campbell is top drawer, I saw him fight in the previous round and he looked like a classy boxer.
the aiba website is incredibly slow for me. yafai is facing sattibayev tommorrow at 15:30 after getting a 1st round bye and beating a turk in the 2nd round.
"Super" Stephen Simmons (Sco) is up against Oleksandr Usyk (Ukr) in the 3rd round of the 91Kg heavy. What about the **** poor crowd, it's a disgrace. I thought that the British ABA's crowd was small, this looks worse.
Thats a complete and absolute disgrace...Barnes was schooling the Kenyan in the last round and never scored a point :-(
Unfortunately you're down right Tony, British and Irish boxers have to fight ridiculously well to get their dues at the top level of the Ams. I was calling for Barnes to turn pro after these Championships and I'd say now I'll get my wish. Outside of Ashley Sexton there doesn't seem to be to much quality at British/Commonwealth Flyweight level and the European scene is pretty weak at the moment too. Plenty of opportunity for Paddy to do very well for himself in the pros and he's got a good style for it. I wouldn't mind him getting that Kenyan again in the future for the Commonwealth title, I don't think the Judges scores would be needed
I will have live voices from Milan on tomorrow's (THurs 10/9/) BBC London 94.9 show between 8-9pm. Adios.
