In this fight between Marciano and Foreman..stamina would be a big key....George was KO'd by a past his prime Ali in 1974....Foreman punched himself out..and ran outta gas
...IF...I say IF George has a chance in this fight..it has to be early while he still has pop in his punches..The Rock carried his power into the later rounds....If an aging Ali could
    put Foreman away........

Foreman was 235 lbs for Qawi.
How many times was Foreman down against punchers Cooney and Morrison?

Bummy, Lyle was 6'4" with a huge wing span blasting a rusty Foreman from the outside. How in the world was Rocky going to fight him like that with a 67" reach ? It's a completely different fight. Why not ask Rocky to fight him like Jimmy Young did ?

    Get hurt.
    Now make it fair.
    Rock was basically a Cruiserwieght.
    And there he rules.

It appears one of us is and hiding and eluding from the facts. I will ask this one more time, When has Ron Lyle ever demonstrated that "Vaunted" right hand power your referring to against a World Class opponent to score the knockout? What Ring Magazine top 10 did Ron Lyle knock out with 1 right hand?

He won't and he can't because he knows he's holding on to a straw. He's relying on the testimonials of Foreman. Of course he doesn't believe that Foreman was scarred of Norton, along with all the other things Foreman blabbered about during his career. Of course, Lyle could punch and showed that in the Foreman fight. Foreman did look a bit tired in that fight too. However, outside that fight you see little to no evidence to support such a claim. Claiming it's preposterous to believe Rocky hits harder than Frazier and Lyle is silly at best.

SQ: I'm avoiding nothing. I answered your question. He hit 230 pound George Foreman harder than George was ever hit and knocked him down twice. He knocked out Earnie Shavers, Garcia, Middleton and Buster Mathis. I have no footage of his first 19 bouts of which 17 were KO victories. Other than power and size , Lyle was limited which was why he did not have more KO's.

Now other than a 37 yeat old Louis, what heavyweight did Marciano ever fight let alone knock out ?

Cooney rocked him in the first according to George but Cooney was not his best in that fight and the punch that he hit George with did not appear to be a murderous punch. Morison fought that fight on his toes and used speed and movement..He did not really settle down on his punches....However I am not saying that George could not take a punch, the Ali fight was from exhaution and Young a combo of Exhaust and timing of a punch...Young could not hurt a fly....George may have had a sytle problem with Quarry....and they stayed clear of Jerry...Bonevena may have given him a different fight than the older Chuvalo he fought because of the unorthodoxity of Oscar and Jerry was 2nd to Ali vs the Big Slow Punchers

The better fighter of the day were the smaller men

....Valdez was beaten 2 times by Archie Moore, Archie also KO'd Burt Whitehurst 2 times and Sonny Liston went the distance with Burt 2 times. Archie also KO'd Bob Baker who was 6"2 210lbs.

....Bob Satterfield Ko'd Bob Baker and Dominated Valdez, Satterfield also KO'd 31-1 Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams in 3...Charles KO'd Coley Wallace and then KO'd Satterfeild in 2

Lastarza beat 6"2 Dan Bucceroni who was 38-2

...I think the more skilled fighters like Charles, Moore and Walcott and Lastarza were the best of the time if not the biggest and lets remember that Gregorio Peralta was under 200 lbs and gave George a nice workout and Peralta drew with Lyle as well and Foreman avoided Quarry who was 6 ft and 200...Quarry did have the style to beat those Big guys (2nd to Ali) because he did dominated Lyle, Mac Foster, Thad Spencer, Shavers,Joe Alexander,Buster Mathis, Larry Middleton and others

Foreman had a real padded record and could not stop the 6" 195lb Levi Forte who was Ko'd in 2 rds by Floyd Patterson in his next fight. Also in his comeback 5"11 Everit "Big Foot Martin took him 10rds.

Marciano beat some tall men Vingo was 6"4 and stopped Bill Wilson and Johnny Shkor and 6"2 215 Joe Louis and Joe Louis Stopped 6'6 Buddy Baer and 6"6 Primo Carnera but they were not the best of the time just the biggest.

I do think Heavyweight today are the best of the Big men ever, the Klitschko's and Lewis and if we go by the notion that bigger is better...did Ali, or Foreman ever fight a man the size and skill of the klitschko;s or Lewis...the closest was Terrel and he does not come close in talent to the Klitschko's or Lewis

still historically Big men have not been the best...Dempsey Ko'd Fulton and Willard and Firpo and it was the smaller more talented men that he struggled with...Jack Sharkey also handled a few giants.

I think a lot of posters miss the picture with size. Marciano fought the best of his times, the #1 contender in 5 of 6 defences Pretty Strong.....the biggest were beaten by the BEST

No doubt but it was a weak time as well as a time that played into his strengths. Rocky was a great , small cruiser whose career was defined by his opposition. He did not have to meet talented big men or great cruiserweights in their prime. He did not duck anyone and this is to his credit but the luck of the draw played out to his favor. Again, not his fault but has to be factored in. Even though Valdez lost many big fights I'm sure many mention his name just to see how Marciano would have done against a big man.
