    42 prep fights? Not bad compared to fighters like Tszyu who trun pro with 200+ fights under their belts.

    Chavez didn't have much of an Amature career. Some of those unheard of fighter that he fought in his early years were some tough sons of bitches! Don't know if you ever seen them early fights when Chavez was just refining his skills, but some of those guys gave him some tough fights.

    What is the point of this thread?

    Chavez was one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the history of the sport. You can't bring him down by talking about his path to the title. If he had fallen apart after reaching world class level then that would have been a different story.

    Youare right about the 40+ something tomato cans, but we all know he is one of the greatest man inside the ring cause after those 40+ tomato cans he showed against the best that he was a one in a million boxer.
