It appears that Antillon has dumped his longtime trainer, Rudy Hernandez, after being together for 15 years in favor of popular trainer Freddie Roach. You have to wonder what happens to loyalty between trainers and fighters if you get scrapped after one loss as was the case here. More importantly does Roach even have the time to devote to new fighters when he already has so many in his stable?

This scenario reminds me of when Kermit Cintron sacked his loyal trainer after his first defeat at the hands of Margarito then jumped ship to star trainer Emmanuel Steward only to immediately split from him after his second asswhooping.

I am very happy to se someone point that out since I am one of the original members of what once was "Team Cintron!" There is one reason and one reason only that Kermit lost that fight. He absolutely would not train in the manner that got him to victory in his previous 24 fights because his girlfriend ran his life like he was a puppet on a string. He has nobody but himself to blame for that humiliating defeat.

Roach is becoming an oasis for freshly chinned wonderboys.

For now I've shelved whatever respect I had for Antillon. It was just pathetic the way he pounded his chest and shouted "MEHHEECO!" while he was getting his ass tapped in his last fight down there. An ugly attempt at getting the crowd more 'intensely' involved.

That's a very eloquent way of putting it

So true though since even Margarito wants in with Roach.

Ive heard there was a disagreement between rudy and urbano. Rudy had taken urbano in and urbano had been living and trining with rudy since he was 14. Rudy was his manager aswell. I heard urbano was doing alot of stupid things like acting as if his dad was his manager and not wearing his sponser "Teiken" on his shorts. He was also real cocky in his last fight.....then got ktfo'ed. Going to roach from hernandez is no real upgrade. They just had a falling out.

I agree, Roach won't be able to do much if he continues with that aggressive pressure style of his but the problem is he doesn't have the chin for it. I'm fairly certain that he won't become a pure boxer or a counter-puncher or even have the speed/skill to work an in & out attack like Pacquiao/Khan.

For the last few months he seemed a little overconfident talking about big plans after crushing Acosta and wanting to face dangerous opponents like Valero & JMM. It must have been an incredible shock to the system getting KTFO so badly and humbled by cold hard reality. He must have been reading a bit much of his own press. Writers have been saying that he is the future of the lightweight division for a while now before he got spanked.
