Perdomo has not bearing what so ever in the outcome of this thing, the guy isnt a world class fighter. Fire in this belly or not Kessler will have his hands full with Ward...mark my words about that:good

I didn't say Perdomo has any bearing on the end result...but their date may give an indication of how that result will be arrived at.

Kessler will beat Ward, of that I am certain. Ward's prospects of lasting the distance depend entirely on where Kessler's head is at, which will be on display this Saturday. Kessler UD was my original pick but if he comes out like a caged beast and tears the Venezuelan to shreds, the under in the Ward fight will start looking tasty. Not comparing them stylistically or saying Perdomo poses a challenge - I'm saying we don't know Kessler's mentality right now until we see it. Actions > words.

I like Alex in this one.I know styles make fights and, although Jermaine is a good puncher,I don't believe he can knock Alex out.I believe that Alex is better than Kelly Pavlik at middleweight and look what happened there.Besides,Jermaine has been ko'd twice already-just a bit shopworn. In my opinion,Alex by 10th round knockout.

One of the things the showtime annoucers mentioned that I actually payed attention too was maybe Abraham only fights in bursts because making the weight is killing him, if thats true and we see a busier than ever before Abraham I think he will wear down Taylor and KO him. If it's just Abraham's tempermant to fight like that though ...he still might get past Taylor but he probably wont win the tournament.

I do have the same concern as the thread starter. The more I think and analyze the fight the more comfortable I am with an AA victory.
    1. AA has a proven and durable chin, I don't see JT knocking Arthur out unless he get a wide looping punch in behind AA's guard.
    2. AA's defense has been compared to winky wright's, unfortunately, it is not, BUT, AA has power winky only wishes he had. The fight being in Germany, JT has to do much more accurate punching and not rely on his athletic ability and jab to win him the fight.
    3. I can guarantee AA will frustrate Jermain, Jermain knowing full well, he needs a clear decision to win in Germany, thus Jermain starting to take risks.
    4. EVERYBODY, including Jermain knows full well AA's feels his opponents out for the first 2 or 3, what if Arthur does the opposite and tries to take Jermain out early?
    5. Arthur connecting on Jermain and Jermain feeling arthurs respective power: Will it make Jermain switch to a different gameplan? In my opinion, Arthur is the hardest puncher Jermain has fought, yes, that includes Jeff Lacy and KP.

This fight could not be more even then any of the SMW tournaments beginning fights and I think it all boils down to a couple of things, and it can't be any more clear to any unbiased poster or the general boxing fan.
Will AA's power carry to 168? Can he be even more devastating?
Will AA's chin be AS durable as it was at MW?
Will AA be more active at 168 then he was at 160.
These will be the most asked questions leadig into AA's career at SMW.
In my opinion, judging the fight against Miranda2 at 166, I will have to say yes to all my questions above.

Relax. Taylor had to rely on his friends at HBO to get him the "victories" in most of his fights. Your man should have an easy time with this overrated hype job.

Kessler has a pretty fair uppercut in his arsenal, too. And he likes to whip it out during big fights. :good

To me the questions are more about Abraham.

The biggest scalp on AA's resume is Edison Miranda, who gave him hell and would have stopped AA anywhere outside of Germany in the first fight.

Taylor's weaknesses of gassing are well documented, but he's been in with a higher calibre of fighter than AA so I believe the question marks are hanging more over AA than Taylor right now.

A good interesting fight is what it is. I like the match up and look forward to watching it.

Taylor could pull it off, but I doubt it.

I like both guys, but I se AA as rising and Taylor as declining.

As an Abraham fan, you should be worried about eveyone else EXCEPT Taylor. I think Abraham will walk Taylor down over a few rounds before breaking him down and knocking him not just out of the fight but out of the tournament. I believe if there are replacements in place, Taylor is the one who will be replaced. Abraham is in his prime, Taylor has been through hell. And what is up with his conditioning?

In my opinion, Direll is going to be aa's toughest fight.
